Generally less than 40 minutes from the queue's appearance.

Yesterday, my queue first updated to 39 minutes, and counted down from there; I got into the store RIGHT after they went OOS, but a good minute before Wario/StockSupply were able to post that they were OOS. So 39 minutes is probably a decent rule of thumb for "do I have a shot or not" when your queue initially updates.
You'd think that's what retailers would do, but unfortunately my 3 cancelled 3080 orders from Newegg say differently

From what I've gathered is the pre-queue lasts 30 minutes and if you make it into that, your position is shuffled once the sale goes live. If you join the queue while the sale is live, you are put in at the very back.
They don't care since any new stock they get will sale in seconds but that's so fucking shitty for their customers.

No, his order went through but because Walmart got more orders that went through than their inventory they cancelled people's order.
