I've only recently started dipping my toes into JRPGs (Yakuza LAD, DQ XI-S, playing Octopath now) but honestly none of those sound like anything I'd want to buy. I own one of the Ace Attourneys on my PS4 and just can't get into the series, but I don't think I really like VNs - I absolutely hated Shibuya 428. Octopath feels daunting enough for now playing just 1 hour a week it feels like i'll be at it for months.

i did download the scarlet nexus demo on my xbox, should check that out. Oh, I did get FF7R-Intergrade on disc so will probably play Yuffie DLC in June.

How necessary will playing the first Monster Hunter Stories be? I have the first one on mobile but haven't gotten far.

Doki Doki's basically a cutesy waifu game until it isn't. It's born out of the creator's frustration with how VNs are typically structured, and seeks to challenge that as it tries to make you question VN conventions with its story. It's a game that pulls some surprising tricks up its sleeve, and delves into psychological horror and graphic imagery to pull those tricks off.

Personally, it's a game that I find to be written well (as in the prose, not just the structure) and weighs more than what it's famous/infamous for.

Soooo, just TWEWY 2 since I've played Ys IX and the Great Ace Attorney games (and didn't like the original Monster Hunter Stories).

Interesting, I didn't realize TWEWY was coming so soon. I'll probably pick up that, MHS2, Ys 9, and maybe Cris Tales. Stacked month for sure.

Definitely buying Ace Attorney, guaranteed (NSW physical, Steam digital). Maybe the PC version of Monstrum Nox as well if it isn't a technical trash fire. Zero interest in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

I already have Ender Lilies on Steam (bought in Early Access), excited for the full launch on June 22! And CrisTales I'm going to play on XSX via XGPU.

Chronicles maybe at a point in a far, far away future. I still haven't played the OG trilogy.

Not sure if I'll be picking them up right away, but I do plan to get Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Great Ace Attorney. They're Capcom games, so they'll be 50% off in 6 months. Probably a better time to pick them up.

Cris Tales is on Game Pass and I have that preloaded so least that one. Probably snag Ys IX too at some point.

The Great Ace Attorney first, already listened to bits of music from that game and it sounds incredible! Can't wait to finally play part 1 and 2.

Afterwards jumping into NEO TWEWY right away. SquareEnix has teased a sequel for almost an eternity. I want to see in what direction the story is going. Another game where I expect the music to be excellent.

Man, it's crazy, right? I had the same thought.

Definitely snagging The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. After that? Not sure yet. Two more for sure.

I stopped about 20 hours in on PS5 because the graphics are honestly horrible. Like, PS3 level in places. I will absolutely double dip if the PC port is good.

Do we know if Durante is in charge of the port? If so it's guaranteed to be incredible and if not, probably the opposite lol

ix depends on stability and I'm doubtful twewy 2 will be any good, but we'll see

Durante's team is behind the port, and they did a great job with it. Check out the demo if you get a chance.

OMG yes!!!! I don't even need a demo. I've blind bought all the Falcon stuff he's worked on and they are all just insanely great. I'm buying this day 0!
I love everything about Ys9 except the graphics so this port is a godsend

They did patch Ys IX on ps5 to support 4k res.

Might be worth looking back to before you buy the pc version.

Oh I had no idea! I played right at release for a few days and not since. I'll install it tonight and check things out for sure. 4K will likely fix my biggest issues of the jaggies everywhere and blurriness.

I may buy it on PC regardless though, to support Falcom on PC and Durante's amazing work :)
