I'm watching it for the first time right now. Bruce Willis just picked up Milla. It's entertaining but I can't tell if it's camp or not. The effects have aged amazingly well but the soundtrack is insane. Feels like I'm playing an FMV game.

Its quite a ride and it has a special place in my heart as a movie I watched many times as a child with my mother and sisters.

Hell yeah it is.
It's a movie that gets better in rewatches as you have the time to take it all in.
I saw this in theaters back then and was actually asking the same question as I left the theater as the movie is wild and I wasn't even sure I liked it.
But multiple watches on home video made me fall in love with this movie. The visual design and classics good versus pure evil, the cast, the costume design, music editing, action, just everything!

Wanted to know what the consensus is. Will obviously judge for myself.
It's a really high budget Moebius-inspired science fantasy movie that's simultaneously embarrassing and charming.
It's a fucking awesome movie. I'm not reading any of the actual comments in here because haters gonna hate.
Yes, it's one of the best space opera movie ever created.

It's pretty much the one of the bars for me for these sci-fi futuristic space opera epics films and it saddens me a bit since nothing since is near is creative and sheer enjoyable fun as The Fifth Element since though that makes it unique and more special to me.

No. I rather dislike it, but have peacefully accepted that most if not all of other people enjoy the film.

This is one of those movies I can watch pretty much any time and have fun, regardless of how many times I've seen it.
I've bought the movie five times. The Fifth Purchase, I called it when it hit 4K. The joke will only work the one time, and I may end up buying it again at some point.

Yeah, it's basically a perfect film. One that I'll almost always stop and watch if I'm scrolling through channels.
