How do you pronounce Fanta?

Except for the French and one American those all sound like pretty much the same thing.
I'm starting to think that This Fahn-ta and Fan-ta things are actually the same.
Well, from the German word for "fantasy". With German pronunciation.
as a german I say fun-ta. our "a" is more like "uh", where our "ä" is more like "ay" like how americans say "data". and it is a german product of origin any ways.
Americans don't say "data" uniformly. There are two accepted pronunciations used interchangably around the country, with little rhyme or reason (i.e. they aren't region specific).
They're even singing Fan-ta how does he hear fawn-ta there? I'm so confused.
Say it like you're trying to say the word hantavirus but with an F and without the word virus and there you go, that's how you pronounce it.

Its pronounced Fan-ta, and in that video they're saying Fan-ta, not Fawn-ta, so i'm confused why this thread is a thing.
That video sounds like Fan-ta to me. The same as Santa as in Santa Claus. Jus remove the F and put an S. That is how I always knew it and say it.
Fawn-ta, seems to me like it would sound like 'porn' 'corn' dawn' etc, and I don't hear that in that video.
OP have your husband to record it on audio and share it. He is trying to make it sound fancy lol.

They're saying /fanta/ in that video not /fÉ”nta/. In English, I generally hear people say /fæntÉ™/. Maybe the reason your husband is confusing it is because he thinks long-a in Spanish is pronounced <ä> like in the English word father /fĂ¤Ă°ÉąĚ / which is a common misconception.

As for the other controversy: It's "die", not "das" Fanta.
