If it is a streaming box, what do you guys feel would be a good price for it? 49$? 99$?

Surely not more than $99?

I've tried GeForce Now and it's decent but sadly for me the closest server is like half a continent away from where I live, hopefully Google having servers in my country means that this service will actually work.

$99. possibly a little more but they'd aim for that. They need to pack in a decent controller which isn't cheap, and presumably this will need to also be a streaming 4k box for movies/apps, and being google it'll almost certainly have assistant built in so mics etc.

I was a bit skeptical with the whole streaming business, however, this week i started the PS NOW 7-day trial and, lo and behold, i didn't even notice the games were being streamed... it was seamless!

I still find it a bit expensive though (since i don't play that often now, mostly on the weekends with my son). If it was less than 10€/mo I would definitely subscribe!
PS Now streams at 720p. It's Ok that this low resolution is acceptable to you and you don't personally notice the difference, but many of us here have slightly higher requirements from home entertainment in 2019 and this is why there's a lot of skepticism surrounding streaming tech.

Amazing! Waiting for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft to declare they are out of the console business.

The Game box by Google- Pay us $50 for the box or pay us $50 or we will disable your console remotely using our incredible internet control power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still betting on a Nvidia Shield kind of device. The classic PS4/XB1 is too old school of a product, with their disk drives and such.

Plot twist:
It's gonna be a console!
BUT!
It's 100% backward compatible and gives trophies to EVERYTHING!

At least that's what's I'm hoping for.
That way I can go all the way back to the start of my backlog and finally finish Knuckles Chaotix.

Google loves using names that can clearly be confused with other products of theirs. I totally see them calling the device "Google Play" regardless of all the other google play services that already exist

Getting mildly excited as to what it is...no leaks,i did do a Google rewards survey yesterday regarding a service priced at $7.99 for apps and games from Google....so that's as close to a leak as to what could be happening I've got

Most of the games I've been playing looked the same as their PSN counterpart, must be the Upscaler on my TV then...
Mostly I was looking at lag input, latency etc... that's where it was unnoticeable to me.

However, I agree, I need to check on a more graphical intensive game. I'll see what I can find...

I wonder if they'll continue the "Daydream" branding for the gaming-centric VR headset they're about to announce or if they'll go in a different direction...

They can't use 'box', Microsoft already called dibs on box!

Maybe "The Pixel G"?

Fine. Introducing, The Pixel Station lol

Though I do strongly feel it'll be called Pixel something or an entire new name to launch their gaming side of products.

Pixel for mobile devices.
Home/Hub for connected home devices.
Google Stream for their gaming devices etc (example)

Just a thought.
