These are like those edgy anime shirts in that I refuse to believe anyone would actually wear them unironically.

I did the forklift mission in GTA San Andreas. That counts, right?

Also, I used to work at a grocery store when I was 18. In the evenings, after the grumpy daytime managers went home, we would play in the back of the store and race with the forklifts.

If there's one thing I've learned from my years of working in retail and fast food, the night managers are always chill and let you get away with almost anything.

i miss operating forklifts tbh. one of the only saving graces of my time in supply chain (that, and ending up fuckin ripped after a week of 12 hour heavy physical labor shifts).

i absolutely would get these shirts and wear them everywhere. im mildly obsessed with this goofy style of graphic tee. what do we even call these?

one birthday like, a decade plus ago, there was a custom shirt kiosk at the mall and i asked my girlfriend at the time to get me one that says, "worlds greatest shipbuilder" with a giant picture of a battleship front and center. i miss that shirt.

I've definitely seen dudes in the grocery store wearing shirts like these. Not specifically forklift operator ones though. I did see one that was like, "I don't fear death, I drive a bucket truck," or something like that.

I think the only place I've seen these shirts in the wild is Disney World. The shirts people wear to Disney are… a breed apart.

Also I wish I knew how to use a forklift. All we ever get is pallet jacks, which aren't nearly as fun.

I sometimes miss my days driving a forklift, it was stressful but I took a lot of pride in being efficient and safe. I would've worn the shit out of some of these shirts

Forklifts aren't difficult to use. My first job was at a dealership and we used one to take all the trash barrels to the dumpster due to weight. One day the guy who does it was out, so I had to learn it with no training at all. Doesn't take long to learn.

Anyone saying driving a forklift isnt intense has never raised the forks as high as they can go on a stand up lift, with an entire pallet of soda that weighs like 2000 lbs. It's a very scary experience the first few times.

I don't get it. Weirdly aggressive tshirts that remind me of bikers trying too hard, with a hint of boomer?

Anyone who is that demonstratively proud of a profession or hobby usually sucks at that profession or hobby.

read: skateboarders, engineers, musicians

What kind of shelves are at a warehouse where barely tapping it with a forklift causes every damn shelf in the warehouse to collapse?

Shelves loaded way above their design limit. Beams on the shelves are under a huge amount of compression force, so a small deflection from getting bumped causes the beam to buckle and fail. The failed beam then transfers load to other beams that are close to failure and it all comes crashing down

As someone who works in a company with a production warehouse I have yet to meet a forklift driver who was this proud of their profession.

It's usually the Semi-truck drivers who are the most cocky about their line of work. (And also creepy since some of them like to creep on the young interns)
