After using an ipad pro and s20 ultra... 120 hz is a day and night difference on small screens. It feels so sluggish going back to a 60hz screen. I really hope the next iPhone has a 120hz display. The battery is definitely impacted with it on but its worth the trade off as you can still get a full day of usage still.

The main thing you do on your phone is scroll through shit so this is the #1 feature I'd want in future phones.. everything just feels so good.

Not desperately. What's my elderly Pixel 2, 60Hz? Feels ok to me. If I upgrade chances are it will be a 90Hz screen as that sea to be fairly common now, but I don't have any real desire for 120Hz. Mind you, maybe that's just me not knowing what I'm missing.

I love the way it looks but it's a waste of battery.

I have a One Plus 7 Pro and even the 60Hz mode is good enough for me.

I prefer maximum battery more than anything.

Yes. 120hz on the S20 Ultra is my go to option. Haven't moved it back since I got the phone.

Of course - League of Legends: Wild Rift in 120fps + smoother scrolling on my most used device?

Hope the 2020 iPhone has it so I can upgrade from my 11 Pro Max.

It'd be nice but I'm not really willing to pay a premium for just that feature alone when all I'm doing is scrolling through Twitter or texting someone. I love high refresh rates for games as they can help me perform better and generally look better, but if I'm spending 90% of my time looking at still images and text it's not really important to me.

Using 120hz on my S20 Ultra looks soooo much better than 60hz. I'd gladly take the drop in resolution for the faster refresh rate screen

It's nice to have and definitely better than 60Hz, but it's not a game-changer. If I had to use a 60Hz phone again I'd be annoyed for a little while but I'd probably readjust quickly.

It's nice I guess but I mostly use my phone to watch videos and those cap out at 60 so it wouldn't really make a difference to me.

At this stage, my XS is doing everything I want and need it to do (save for taking photos in low light conditions).

It'll take 120hz in a screen for me to even consider paying a significant amount of money to upgrade it, and even then I'll probably be a bit hesitant.

I've never seen a 120hz screen so I don't know what I'm missing out on and I honestly don't wanna know because I need to stop wasting money.

Looking forward to seeing reviews on that coming OnePlus Nord thingie with 90Hz at what looks like neat price, with a decent battery.

But I am still rocking an OP5 and happy with that for now, since it still does quite fine battery wise. A bigger screen would be nice, and if I can get that and 90Hz for a reasonable price I might just get that.

I wouldn't mind one, but I'm not going to buy a phone based on that alone. Given two otherwise equivalent options I might pay sightly more for the phone with high refresh rate.

Not really.

I mean, I can definitely see the difference, but it doesn't make 60hz feel like shit to me. Also, the most important aspect of a modern phone for me is by far the battery life, as my phone gets HEAVY usage when I'm working.

A phone's most potent gift is it's battery. What use is 120hz if it dies when I need it most? I do hope the next iPhone has it, but as an option.

Yup. I've been overall fairly disappointed with my purchase of the S20 Ultra, but the screen plus MASSIVE battery are it's value drivers for me over the cameras or anything else

If the iPhone 12 pro Still doesn't have 120hz, I might not upgrade (and break my "every other iPhone" cycle I've been doing since the 3G

Not really. It's a waste of battery tbh. I feel like influencers overemphasize the smoothness of 120hz without thinking about why anyone would need it.

Not enough to go big just for it, but If I did buy flagships I wouldn't bother with 60hz in 2020.
The battery life of 90hz is a good trade off.

It's more a nice to have than a selling point for me, but it's a feature I hope gets added to more and more phones as the technology becomes cheaper and more widely available. Improvements are always good.

I have an s10e which I believe is 60hz and I don't feel like I need more. I haven't tried higher though, and I kinda don't want to...

It's such a battery drain on my phone. I would rather deal with the slower refresh rate and get longer battery life.

I'm still on an iPhone 6s+ and I won't upgrade until some game I'm playing (FGO) makes me upgrade.

For flagships in 2020 and beyond? Absolutely. It's pretty much a requirement at this point.

For midrange and budget phones, no.

Never used a phone with a higher refresh rate, but I really like my 144 Hz monitor. Power consumption is of greater concern on a phone, though, so maybe 90 Hz as a compromise?

Doesn't matter much to me. Most content on phones is 30 or 60FPS.
Not worth it to me for just having a smoother browsing experience.

Phones are for calling and texting, so no, not really.

It's nice I guess but I mostly use my phone to watch videos and those cap out at 60 so it wouldn't really make a difference to me.

You're more than likely going through web pages like Era, and apps that require a lot of scrolling and 120hz makes a huge difference. It's when you play games or watch videos that it won't make a difference but you'll more than likely going to benefit with the 120hz most of the time you're on your phone.

Battery on this S20U is pretty good too even with the 120hz though I gotta test more without WiFi but so far so good. Matches my Note 10+ with battery and that was really good. It helps that it can do 45w fast charging too
