Who believing him about what exactly? The man talks a lot of shit. That's kinda his whole thing.

It's not surprising that Alex "Democrats are running a child sex ring under a pizzeria" Jones is a horrible human being capable of this and likely worse.
It seemed like you were taking him at his word about this being the work of people trying to frame him.

Did you read the article? Jones, or rather his lawyer, claims that the porn was found on their servers in threatening emails. It was found by another company who was screening their emails.
Let's try turning our brains on for a few minutes shall we?
If you were keeping highly illegal porn for, err... personal use, would you keep it on a server, a company server directly connected to you no less, rather than a hard drive? Would you allow another company to then look at that server? That makes no damn sense.
But hey, for the sake of argument, let's say he's an idiot and did both those things. Maybe he's not tech savvy. Or maybe the company screening his emails was contracted by an employee without his knowledge.
The matter is currently under investigation by the FBI. That being the case, why would his lawyer then publicly lie about something so easy to disprove? If the porn was simply being stored on the server rather then being embedded in incoming emails then that would come to light very quickly. They could have moved it I suppose, after it was discovered but before the FBI got involved. But that is also likely to come to light as soon as the FBI questions whoever discovered it. Besides, if Jones & Co had the opportunity to do that, why not just quietly delete it instead?
I suppose theoretically they could have sent the emails to themselves. Which would also be a ridiculous way to get child porn since in order to send it you must already have it, and sending it to an email server that you know is being screened by another company is also ridiculous.
OR.
Or or or. Someone else who really hates Alex Jones, which a lot of people do, could have sent him emails with child porn either to try and get him in trouble or as a general haha-now-you've-seen-CP-and-it's-in-your-head fuck you tactic.

So yes, going on the information currently available to me, it is my belief that Jones isn't guilty, not of this.
Do I believe him when he says it was done by someone related to the Sandy Hook lawsuit? No. It's theoretically possible, but that's just Alex Jones bullshitting like, well... like Alex Jones. I also have my doubts about his claims that it was any kind of sophisticated malware, but that should be easy enough to clarify upon investigation.
Noooo, at least the way I read it, infowars pays a company to screen emails. They found these potential malware emails and contacted the authorities. The authorities opened them and found out they were child porn bombs of sorts and if anyone, you, I or Alex Jones had opened them, would almost certainly go to jail for 5 years.
Now Alex Jones is offering Ransom for whoever sent the email.

the issue is the line from the article "Infowars founder Alex Jones and his lawyer, Norm Pattis, say the conspiracy theory aficionado was the target of a malware attack that left [illicit content] embedded on his server" - it sounds like the attack delivered its payload in that case
and it could just be that the infowars people are using the wrong terminology to describe what happened
but if they do intend to say that malware embedded in the emails is the culprit for the illicit content ending up on their server, then that contradicts their claim that no one at infowars opened the emails - for the malware to execute and embed the illicit content, the email and whatever malicious attachment pretending to be a legitimate file that was included must have been opened
could also just be them rushing to cover asses though, kind of like people swearing they didn't click on the phishing link
my prediction is that these particular emails contained images of illicit content, which were flagged and triggered an investigation that then discovered more illicit content on infowars servers that is being blamed on fictitious malware implanting them
either that or they're lying about no one clicking on the emails, someone accidentally ran the malware which did embed the illicit content, and they're trying to shield the person who got duped into running the malware for whatever reason
third scenario is that the infowars lawyer thinks sending emails with disgusting images in them is "a malware attack" and has accidentally created this contradiction with his poor understanding of the topic, which is possible given the caliber of thought the client he represents has

I've always found this case to be incredibly curious. Like, it smells badly of hoax/conspiracy, but something about it always struck me as a case of "they were on to something and somewhere along the way they lost the plot." To this day I will maintain that there was an "it" to the story, but we'll never know what it was. If that same story broke today it would travel like wildfire.
