Maybe it's different in the UK but Burger King doesn't sell milkshakes, they sell partially gelatinated, nondairy, gum-based beverages.

It's like these right wing arseholes just try to be shit in every way. You'd think if they had convictions they would say "we'll fight through the milkshakes and everything else they throw at us to do [whatever shitty message they are preaching]" but instead they just cry on Twitter about violence? Why would anyone want to be like that?

They know what they are doing. They are trying to make the other side look "violent" to the centrists and even those who might lean a little left. They also think they caught the left in a catch-22. They don't care about convictions, they want to make the left look bad.

And fuck McDonald's for catering to their shenanigans. Good for Burger King.

Eh..

It certainly is an unnecessary provocation to get some money but I can't say I sympathize with the milkshake victims either.

Also, Farage played it wrong - he should've had a laugh about the hoodie that got him.
Hoodie huh, showing your arse there I'm afraid
Limp-wristed soy throw and no attempt to leave the scene...

Soy? Who actually uses that as an insult
Should really just be deplatforming these idiots than doing anything that they can use to rally people to their cause.
You can do both, and making them look like the fools they are helps with that

so, these people going off about the heinousness of political violence in response to Burger King tweeting about milkshakes

these are the same people who consider "virtue signaling" one of the worst things a person can do, right

Conservative: Those libs are triggered so easy!
BK: We sell milkshakes.
Conservative: *Is triggered*

I will happily buy the Geordie leg a milkshake of his choosing if I ever meet him IRL.

I follow the guy who 'shaked, rattled and rolled Farage on Twitter for his home brewing exploits, he's now locked his Twitter down but his homebrewing blog is being flooded with people saying they'll find out where he lives, they'll check all the pubs around his area and wait for him, all kinds of threats. Fucking scum.

Awful. Police need to look into that ASAP.

But it was an insult wasn't it?

I can assume anyone using soy as a descriptor for anything other than food is a pillock thank you very much

It's fine, it was a subtle use of sarcasm, I'm not surprised it flies over the heads of dilettantes.

You may leave class now.

Unlike Burger King's tweet, this is genuine inticement
Nothing wrong with the BK tweet, but if you're going around attacking politicians on the street then don't be surprised when the politicians followers do what they can to fuck you over.

Especially a politician with the following of Farage.

a) throwing a milkshake is disruptive, but it's not violent.

b) you fully know that farage's mob aren't calling to respond in similar kind but with actual violence, so don't be obtuse

Let's be real if we're not going to challenge these people at all, even something as weak as pelting a paper cup full of near liquid ice cream, because of what their followers might do then they've already won. The milkshake throwing is a direct challenge to the tough guy image a lot of those tools wear so proudly and makes them look as weak and lame they really are.

Their side already has a body count. You do realize that, right?

Milkshakes are tame in comparison.

"Their side has a body count".

Are we really at the point where Jo Cox's murder is being used as justification for throwing milkshakes at people?

Well the real justification is that they're fascists. Jo Cox is mentioned when they claim this act is unacceptable political violence that cannot be tolerated in civil society, not to mention the fact that fascism is an inherently violent ideology, and notably so for what little its many incarnations have had in common.

Farage presses assault charges against the guy who threw the milkshake

I'd do the same probably. Farage might be a dick but he has the same right as everyone else to do so. The minute we start saying it's ok to assault someone for their political views, we're opening up a can of worms and its open season for anyone to be targeted.

Fascists live off projecting an image of strength.

Drenching them in half melted ice cream removes that image.

If you're going to cry about leftists being unruly or violent because they throw fucking milkshakes at fascists I really don't know what to take from this other than that you're severely lacking in historical perspective. Really, milkshakes? Why don't you ask socialists, transgender people, or refugees what fascists do to them when they get enough angry people to march through the part of town where brown people live?

Just curious, do you live in a world where people don't get attacked for anything pettier than their "political views"? Do you live in a world where differences in "political views" are just a difference of opinion and not a difference of whether or not you need to be afraid of the police, elected officials, and their most ardent supporters? Like, why do you think that people feel so threatened by the "political views" of these people?

Read my posts before you throw your toys out of the pram :)

I have no problem with people throwing milkshakes. I was pointing out that if you're big and brave enough to throw something at a politician, you should be more than ready to face whatever consequences come your way when said politician has a following like Farage does.

Farage is a man who said he'd pick up a rifle if Brexit isn't delivered... after Jo Cox was murdered by a right wing terrorist.

Drink that milkshake, Nigel.
