Assuming that Insomniac goes for Gwen Stacy next in their Spider-Man universe, who should voice her?

I'd say it worked for probably 99% of people.
"Forced" is such an overused word in criticism that it basically means nothing. "The story did something I didn't agree with" is what they're actually trying to say, not that the story itself bent over backwards to justify the happenings.
Clark is probably who would get it. She's working a lot now, she's played the character before and Bailey is alresdy playing someone else. And Bailey generally doesn't have the vocal range to be able to play two characters that are that close. She's at the point of mostly being cast fur her Sora king voice. (And that's no shade, she's great!)

I'd rather Insomniac doesnt follow the trope. Aka a super hero girl has to hook up with another more populate super hero boy. Also outside of Into the Spiderverse film that 'relationship' was forced imo.
Lol, I really didn't think it was forced into Spider-Verse. It felt nice, and their dynamic was my favorite part of the movie.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Or at least, either Allegra Clark or someone entirely new.
I'm not a fan of Allegra Clark as Gwen in MUA3 but it was more in term of voice direction then anything.

I'm still bummed 'Gwen Stacy' seems to mean 'Spider-Gwen' these days instead of, y'know, Gwen Stacy ;(

By that logic, Ashley Park could also be a viable pick. Though my dream new pick would be Barrett Wilbert Weed.
Thinking about it, they could also do what they did with a certain character in Miles Morales.
Yeah, they probably can't go with an A-lister like Emma Stone but they could cast a smaller actress with a few shows and movies on her sleeve to have her as both the voice and model of the character.
However, I'm not really into shows so I don't know. Maybe Erin Moriarty ?

It's for the best. Fridged female love interests is a tired and sexist cliche these days and Gwen was the one who started it all. Better that she's known for something else entirely.

Hailee Steinfeld is rumored to be playing Kate Bishop, so she's off the table for the MCU if that's true.
Word for word what I was gonna post. I love Laura Bailey but she is way over used and she often sounds the same in a lot of roles.
Hopefully we go back to just Peter Parker, the actual reason I like Spider-Man. All these new people running around with Spidey powers is a mess.
Too late. Miles is here to stay. Gwen is on the cusp of her breakout moment too.
She's probably going to be closer to Miles' age instead of Peter's. Peter X Gwen is pretty much sunk.

That's true, that cast is pretty wild. But that seems more like a weird passion thing for them, which I can't imagine a Spider-Man game would be especially for someone who appeared in Spider-Man films already.
Also none of those actors have Oscars (not even Dafoe, which is criminal!)
Laura bailey would stick out a little, but other than that im fine with anything, im sure theyd find someone who will do a good job
I'm leaning on English VAs that are mostly known in Japanese games. Honestly, any of the VAs for Makoto, Ann, Morgana and Futaba from P5 would be great. They could use similar voices or go with something else entirely but their talented enough to give Gwen some spunk or make her more of a sweetie like the OG Gwen.
Mae Whitman would be a excellent pick, her as Amity from The Owl House was how I always read Gwen Stacy.

I believe Spider-Gwen is a year or two older than Miles, right?
Something like. But the ages of comic book characters aren't always super consistent. And Insomniac could certainly flub it in their game universe should they go down that route.
You have decades worth of games and comics and movies catering to exactly that.
I'm glad Marvel realizes the importance of these characters and won't listen to fans that think this way.
