So i have a 4790k and was planning on getting a 5700X but honestly $449 seems really high. Should i just go get a 3800x / 3700x? I have a 2080 super and play in 1440p

I'll probably ride my 3600 until it becomes a bottleneck then pickup a discounted 5800X down the line.

If I can get a 5700 on release day, I'll pick it up. Otherwise, I think I'll use a 3700 or 3800x for the PC I'm building and then upgrade later on.

I got my 3900X for $400, so I feel fine waiting a bit for a 5900X.
Also, for some frame of reference, they showed Big Navi at 73fps in Gears 5 at 4K/Ultra, my 2080 runs the Gears 5 benchmark at 47fps in 4K/Ultra.

Where is the 5700X?? I was hoping for a 8 core 65W Zen 3 CPU to upgrade from my 3700X.

$449 in the UK will be probably £449 and that's just shit.

Excellent showing, and tremendous increase in performance. My R5 1600 is completely left in dust.

Intel looks even more weak now.

probably will wait for a price drop later. a bit steep for 6 cores, although the performance increase is great, it's just quite a steep entry level price.

$300 for 5600x is fair for the claimed performance but its still kinda bleh pricing. Hopefully a 5600 comes in under $250 sometime soon(or a 5700x comes in at $350 or something) as paying $300 for just a 6c/12t cpu is not really appealing(or I'd have already bought a 10600k :p)

so if the AMD benchmarks are to be believed, the "big navi" is performing within 10% of the RTX 3080?

Price increases suck, but I was sort of expecting them now that AMD is truly smacking Intel in basically every metric. I'm in for a 5900, I think. Four extra cores for $100 more than the 5800 is the closest I see to a price / core-count sweet spot. Maybe might stick with a 5800 depending how the IF situation looks.

Hmm, der8auer says that he's heard that the infinity-fabric situation didn't really change? That would be rather disappointing to me :(

e:

And only per CCD OC? Not per-core? :(
