The band becoming more melodic after Nate left is not something I expected. On first listen, I enjoyed it, but I'm a sucker for that proto-melodeath metal sound and they seemed to have nailed it here.

Anyone else listening to the new Pallbearer and getting super sad that half of it sounds like a Coldplay album? I'm going to keep listening in hopes it will grow on me, but definitely more than a little disappointed at the moment.

Edit: I don't mean sad in the good doomy way, I mean sad in the bad disappointed way

Just gave it a listen. First impression I think it's better than the last album (that really didn't click with me). But I think really only the first and last songs are good, the others not so much...

Was never a big Pallbearer fan in the first place and I can see why this new album seems divisive.
I like Signals and With Disease though.
