looking up the updated art direction of Let's Go, I think the top three for me are Cerulean, Celadon and Vermillion. I think Vermillion gets the edge because it's a seaside town and I love seaside towns. but Cerulean is also really nice.

Celadon seems like the most fun city by far. Maybe Cerulean City or Vermilion if you want something more chill

Vermillion because it connects to everything important and has a waterfront, but is still not too crowded or city-like. (Also I'm an electric pokemon stan)

Holy shit, only 2 votes for Pewter City. I knew I should have kicked this out instead of Fushia city or Lavender Town. If a mod wants to make a change, they're completely free to do so

Celadon for me. I'd prob start with a grass type anyways like Bulbasaur so i could chill at the gym,hit up the casino,go shopping. The big city aint that far away and the bike path is there if i wanna go to the zoo. Seems great

I would live in Fuschia because it has a beach and a zoo :(

For what it's worth, it would have one more vote if the poll allowed to change votes. I clicked Cinnabar without thinking haha.

I wonder why it's impopular because it seems like such a nice town. Maybe it just doesn't stand out enough.

I ended up choosing Saffron City, but Cerulean City was in close contention with it.

Basically a choice between a metropolitan area or a more suburban area with a water theme. I decided to go with convenience in the end.

(Celadon City would've ranked high but its Gym would attract Bug Pokemon from everywhere and I want nothing to do with dealing with oversized insects.)

Take a look at that map and then tell me where you think the S.S. Anne is going. lol

Cycling Road is a bridge.

Kanto_Route_17_anime.png

The Anime episode The Bridge Bike Gang showed there's a crossing part for the S.S. Anne to head through, and considering it's been able to get to Olivine City no problems, the bridge holds no hassle for it.

Anything else you want to add to the argument?

My instinct was Pewter, but it really depends on how robust regional supply chains are, and how strong the local economy is - having Viridian Forest to the south and Mt. Moon to the east means the commute is gonna be hell if you need to get anywhere.

I was making a joke about a map but okay, you can with the "argument".

Celadon - definitely. I want to live near that big multi-stories shopping center.

This comes from the fact that I live in a place IRL that's kind of starved for anything actual good shopping brands (Wal-Mart, Best Buy...).

Fuchsia is suitably rural with a touch of seaside, while having a nice cycling link to Celadon for a bigger city.

Saffron City gets a train to Johto in it eventually so thats my choice.

Celadon is a university town and Saffron is the biggest city, so I imagine that's where most of the jobs are. Celadon is nicer, is still accessible via cycling for jobs in Saffron, and is also accessible via cycling to a zoo and the beach.

Cerulean looks nice but I've heard conspiracies that there's an escaped science experiment lurking around there.

Pewter and Viridian must be pretty isolated given you can't get from them to any of the other cities without dungeon crawling or swimming, unless you're one of the 1% who can afford HM Fly.

I'd love to live in a big city just for the experience of it, as someone who's always lived in Suburbs for the most part all their life. The closest experience I had to a city lifestyle was when I lived in an apartment on college campus and I could walk places for necessities.

So........Saffron? It also has the speed train that sends us to Johto, right?

Vermillion City has a cruise ship, living on the water, not as densely populated as Saffron/Celadon but very close by, and uh gonna assume the Diglett caves are some sort of cool attraction. Idk it's so hard to imagine these cities as places people live lol. We need a "realistic" version map.

I can't tell the towns apart since they all looked the same so I'll go with the first town where my mom lives.

All the cities are based on real life places so you can look at them to have a more "real" idea of what it would be like

Here you go

Celadon seems less busy than Saffron while still having the bustle of a city. Easy pick, probably Pewter next but I'd be worried about how disconnected it was…unless they made a direct connection via Diglett's Tunnel.

Vermillion from what's on the poll, but Fuchsia would have been my main pick.

Also people seem to be forgetting that Gen 1 Celadon has a huge organized crime problem, literally has Team Rockets hideout and members walking around openly everywhere.

I'd choose palette town as it's the one that reminds me most of home. I'll travel to a city if I really want that experience but I'm living in a laid back rural area.

Live the nomadic life of a pokemon trainer. Roaming town to town, bumming free nights on peoples couches while secretly robbing their house blind

Fuchsia for sure. I'm shocked it's not in the poll.

Gotta be Pewter, Lavender, or Fuchsia for me. Pewter because it's pretty isolated and surrounded by forests and mountains, Lavender because it's gloomy and morose, and Fuchsia because it seems to stike a balance between bigger city and large wilderness areas. Voted Pewter in the poll since the other two aren't there to choose from.

The whole center block of Cerulean/Celadon/Saffron has too much organised crime bullshit going on. Like, I don't want to wake up one day to find Team Rocket trying to stage a city wide coup or hostile corporate take-over. That's too much shit to deal with.

The potential big play though, if your Pokemon knowledge is retained, is Cinnabar. Tons of cheap real estate already, with burnt out mansions that you can fix up and flip before volcano day. If you want to do it ethically, there's probably dozens of Team Rocket grunts who could be sold on a new secret lair or two. A volcano hideout is prime villain material, and will totally lead to that executive promotion.

Mexico City
Celadon: decent sized city with lots to do and right next to the biggest city (rent is probably cheaper than in Saffron), near the water, near the bike trail. Pleasant and chill. No negatives I can think of. Edit: oh yeah Team Rocket is there, eh I'll take my chances.

2nd and 3rd picks: Saffron or Vermillion. Saffron for that big city vibe and convenience and Vermillion for similar reasons as Celadon, but it has less fun stuff.
