Maybe when the console releases. As an upgrade. But I don't trust activision on that.

I waited cuz I didn't expect Activision to give a free upgrade for PS5 but I figured this would get Smart Delivery at least. Would they maybe be rating it now for a Smart Delivery Xbox Series X version that hits at launch?

The difference is they marketed the next gen version of CoD, and you have a option to buy the crossgen bundle. There was no other option to buy Crash 4 for a different next gen version of it. If it really is a enhanced version of it, maybe i could understand a 5 - 10€ upgrade. But i won't pay the full price again lmfao.

I'm expecting PS5 and Series X/S versions of Crash 4, but I've always planned to play Crash 4 on the PS5 through BC when I get my PS5.
Currently going through it on PS4 and the game is amazing. :)

Hopefully they also release the game on pc alongside next gen.

Maybe a next gen version of CTR down the line as well with the long overdue pc port?

Yup, that's why I've stopped buying games just now. Whatever releases between now and nextgen is a no-no-no.
Hell, even after release I'll just buy whatever I'm 100% finishing right after purchase.

It's plain backwards to me why they didn't bother announcing cross-gen from the getgo and waited til the eleventh hour when Acti's golden boy CoD did just that with no problem. It would've caused less confusion and skepticism.

At least it's happening I guess and they'll get a boost of sales.

ya, plenty of 4k/60 tax going around this lead up. I thought we might not see as much considering the transition should be easier for devs? x86 and all. especially compared to ps3 to ps4 for instance.

the reason why i am not spending 60€ on crash 4, 5 weeks before next gen launches. its activision, so they are probably going to charge you 70 bucks for crash 4 again with no way to upgrade. if there was an upgrade path, they would have told us by now.

This is the whole reason I haven't gotten the game yet. I want it on the PS5 but I don't trust activision to even give me an upgrade path.

Wow especially scummy. This was a back of my mind fear for BC and of course itd be Activision to do it. Instead of making the next gen versions better (which they still may be, even with minimal effort), just make the BC version worse.

It's not a bad looking game, but there's nothing about it that makes me think this couldn't be pushed to at least 1440 on X1X. This is blatant.

It'll be 99.99 percent the codebase of the X1X enhanced version I'll bet. Just with framerate and resolution uncapped. Which they could have done to the X1X version like so many games already do, games that are running far better on Series X.

This is exactly why I didn't buy Crash 4 yet. Well that and the abysmal framerate on base consoles. I figured Activision would do a next-gen SKU and didn't want to get burned by buying it now.

Ya this is interesting. I wonder if MS will need permission from devs when they start doubling framerates for games that currently are locked to 30 in back compat. Also wonder if some devs wont like the idea so as to sell a 4k/60 version instead.
