Turok PS3

Had been out the gaming space for a while, basically Unreal Tournament and RTC 2 where my last games I really played. Jumped back in when Assassin's Creed came out. Turok looked good on initial trailers and was a name I remembered, surely that had to count for something?

I don't remember putting in more than 40 minutes. Did not like.

Dragon Age Inquisition is up there, luckily re-sold it for nearly full price. Sekiro I paid £55 for digitally and couldn't get passed the Orge, picked it back up a year later and beat it though lol.

Wasteland 3- Humor falls flat, it just didn't click with me. The combat AI is all about rushing your position which resulted in jumbled mess most encounters.
The world map is terrible, too many random encounters with no fast travel. The writing, music and voice acting are terrible for a AAA RPG.

Can't think of any really bad game that I've paid full price for.
The Division might be the worst one, but it's not like this game was an irredeemable piece of garbage. It was just an ok game.
Metal Gear Solid 5 The phantom pain was a huge disappointment, but once again, while the game is a mess, it's not bad, it gets carried by really fun gameplay.

Bioshock infinite. Absolutely loved the first two, and the reviews for Infinite were amazing. Just hated it right from the start, never got more than 20 mins in on the two times I've played.

It might actually be RDR2. I just did not like playing that game. I tend to only buy sure things at full price and that was one of the only cases where my expectations were completely off the mark.

Lost Planet 3. I bought it after I played Resident Evil 5 with my brother hoping it would have comparable co-op play but we couldn't tell what was even going on because the splitscreen was so messed up. So I tried playing single player and still had no idea what I was looking at and I took it back a few hours later.

As always when this question pops up:

Rise of the Robots on Amiga 1200

My brother and I only had a magazine called Amiga Joker for game reviews back then, and they gave it 91%(!!!!). As it looked great we pulled the trigger and bought the biggest stinker you could find. Sent the game back the day we got it...it was so bad...

I don't generally buy into the hype-cycle or pre-orders, so I tend to dodge most stinkers. That said, we all get caught out occasionally so this is a tough call between Hitman: Absolution and No Man's Sky.

They're the only two games I've ever refunded... I'll go with Absolution if only because NMS eventually became good.

Street Fighter V. It was a mess at release day and I hate myself for supporting that mess with my money.

I had fun with the game, but it's the first one I paid full price for and it just didn't seem worth 60 (as a teen) compared to games I had been buying on sale/ receiving as gifts

Crysis 2 for the PS3.

Evolve.

I paid full price for the deluxe Anthem and had a decent enough time with it up to the end game, Evolve though, I was done with it and selling after a couple of hours lol.

Killzone Shadow Fall. I wanted a launch game for PS4 and decided to go with it after Watchdogs got delayed. Terrible choice.

I mostly buy Sony exclusives for full price, and the occasional third party game I'm really excited about. All others I'll get when it breaks the 40$ threshold.

That said, Final Fantasy XV was the worst game I payed 60 dollars for. I finished it out of spite. I hated it. And it was my first Final Fantasy. I'm still excited to play FF7R (hoping for a sale on christmas since I missed the BF sale for the game), and FFXVI though.

I don't even remember what's the last game I paid full price for and didn't enjoy, to be honest. Someone gifted Red Dead Redemption 2 to me (they paid full price, so I guess it counts?) and, while I wouldn't say it's bad or the worst game I've paid full price for, it's certainly one of the ones I've enjoyed the least.

I mentioned in the Watch Dogs 3 thread that it's my biggest buyers remorse, but more because it's still completely broken a month after release rather than being a bad game.

Worst game though,

Dragon Age inquisition popped to mind (I thought it was terrible, I'm still amazed that won GOTY awards) but there has to be way worse than that. I remember buying Fight Club on PS2 but can't remember how much I paid.

I envy the people for which RDR2 is the worst game they paid full price for.

I am not sure why I even bought it in the first place. 10-year-old stupidity I assume.

Halo Master Chief Collection, Bought an Xbox One for it and everything.

It's good now, but goddamn, it was a hard pill to swallow, and now for the Series X I'm going to wait on buying it if I even do.

The Walking Dead Survival Instincts.
Not just the worst game I paid full price for, but the worst game I've ever bought. Period.

Went all in on the hype for the collectors edition of Duke Nukem Forever.

That was a mistake.

Lords of the Fallen. Let myself be fooled by all the pre-release Souls content creator hype. Big mistake.

Master of Orion 3 is by far my worst gaming mistake. Being a huge fan of MOO2 I bought into the hype. At least I only bought the normal edition of the game. It turned out to be a soulless and mindnumbingly boring cash grab.

I very rarely pay full price for a game ($50, $60, $70 now) and I wouldn't say any of the ones I have paid full price for are bad per se. I haven't played much Fire Emblem: Three Houses, maybe like 4 hours, I didn't end up playing much of Super Mario Maker 2, maybe 2 hours. Not bad games, just ones that I didn't get my money's worth out of yet.

Trying to think back to past generations... I think I got the launch Spider-Man 2 game for the DS and that wasn't very good.

I really normally come in at the end of the generation and buy discounted games.

Easy - Aliens: Colonial Marines. The worst part is that it resulted in me not getting Alien: Isolation at launch.

Since then, I've never bought a game new.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, for sure. I didn't even have the hardware to run it so I had to play it on my father's laptop but it was extremely disappointing, especially after loving Morrowind. One day I will play it again, maybe heavily modded...

Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi with its shifumi battles.

Fuck that game, the only good thing it had was the anime scenes.

Project X Zone. Billed as an SRPG Fighting game mashup between Bandai, Sega and Capcom and co-developed by Monolith Soft, how could it go wrong? I splurged on the fucking collector's edition.

Oh wait, that's right, it was a shit strategy game and a worse fighter. I fucking hated it.

Oh, and if we count it, Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. It's the Fire Emblem they play in the depths of hell. Pure trite. Birthright was dumb fun, and Conquest had its moments but Revelation was a gimmicky mess on a foundation of bullshit fanservice. Thank fuck they learned with Three Houses.

In terms of games that disappointed me at full price or close to, Zombi U, Last of Us (at the time, I've warmed a decent bit to it having played it again. I was 13 and wanted Zombie Uncharted), Watch Dogs Legion (really drab looking surprisingly on Series X.), Star Wars Squadrons (holy motion sickness), Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (unbearable performance on One S at launch, never been huge on Souls Likes barring Demon's), Fire Emblem Warriors (bad series representation, I don't like Dynasty Warriors but it gave us Tecmo Koei helping out on Three Houses so it did something right), Fallout New Vegas (dumb 11 year old me thought it was too hard and boring, smart 21 year old modern me thinks it's a fucking masterpiece. People change).

Anthem, pre-ordered whatever the edition was that cost $115 Canadian.

Purchased many games I did not like over the years without batting an eye, Anthem was pure fraud
