What Discord servers are your favorite?

Recently I realized I never really talk or fit in any of the servers I've joined through the years. I'm just kind of there.

Are there any servers that aren't private (i.e. friend group or similar) you enjoy being part of? How did you find them?

Most active is Crave the Throne (an eventually great podcast that hasn't started...maybe one day) and one for a current D&D campaign. Enjoy lurking in Salt on the Ice. Most of my other servers are D&D related.

My favorite Discord server is the channel where people attempt to discern the identity of The ResetEra Strangler. Surely he is the criminal of our age, a great artist of our time, but I don't believe they will ever catch him. A genius of his caliber can never be understood. He relishes being chased for he knows he will never be caught.


Otherwise, I don't take part in any servers. I lurk and maintain a pingable presence in some of the servers associated with the forum but I just don't have the time to become a face in those channels. It's too bad because I'm quite fond of Discord itself and like a lot of the communities here.

Finji (publishers of Night in the Woods and the upcoming TUNIC) has an official discord server that is a great community of fans for their games, but beyond that, I love this modern age where I can just hang out and chat with some of my favorite indie devs. They're very friendly.

Also, the Stardew Valley discord has a very nice community and just recently, ConcernedApe himself has joined it.

Tried to set up a server for my friends for just random chat instead of texts but it died off pretty quick.

I'm in like 25 but I'm only active in like 3:

- One I share with some co-workers
- The Friends at the Table (an actual play podcast hosted by Austin Walker of Giant Bomb/Waypoint game) discord
- MafiEra's (this site's great mafia/werewolf community, join us!)

-A server that's semi-associated with an old GameFAQs board. The board has become pretty shit over the years and most of the people in the Discord server don't post there anymore, and we've formed a pretty strong community. Only one I'm notably active in.

-A couple of Melee-related servers. One about statistics for the competitive scene, one for my alma mater's scene. I'm semi-active in these I guess, lurk more than anything.

-....A few porn/kink/sex thing related servers >_>. Mostly femdom related. In 2017 there was a like two month period where I legit spent most of my free time on one of these, don't ask how that even happened. After that I realized I was spending too much time on Discord so I stopped going a lot, and then by the time I came back it was kinda dead. I joined a few others to fill the void but none of them were as good as that one was, so I mostly lurk occasionally in them.

Day9 has a fairly large discord server called TheDayKnights. Everyone always seems super nice and supportive in there.

What's an easy way to find discord servers? There doesn't seem to be a centralized directory.

In all seriousness, I was in a couple of discords that I used to maintain contact with people in like WarframeERA, But I've shorten down the list to only 3 discords now because I spend way too much time shitposting socializing in them. I only really go on my IRL Discord, Discord with some friends, & another one that is open that other's can join & I have like 20 people in there.

This site has some good ones. If you want more community focused ones, the OTs on ERA are a good source, Same with the Reddit sites for those.

I'm more of a lurker in most channels on Discord, other than my friend group and Guild Wars 2 guild. PC Gaming ERA, Crypto ERA, and Reborn Flame (GW2ERA) ,when it was more active, are my favs though. On IRC I idle/hangout on a few channels from old gaf

The only one I'm on is the Monster Hunter World Era discord. The people there have been very helpful. I'll be back there later this year when the expansion comes out.

My favorite one I joined last year, and it really vibes with me well, and everyone in it is amazing, and it's a great feeling. Being able to go from talking about intense and personal issues to talking about cockroach milk and joking about dick pics is just great to be honest, and keeps you from getting bored since there's always different convo's going on that keep you engage.

Also the F1 Era discord is fun, but could do with more people during quieter periods.

I feel the movie could have done something more complex with the "evil witch" character, especially as it actually shows her bringing Rapunzel up as her own daughter. I don't mean Gothel should have been "good", but some nuance would have been nice. Instead she turns into a typical Disney villain and starts stabbing people, yay.
And honestly, everything else in the plot is so prototypical, it writes itself. Disney should feed a machine learning AI with its old scripts, and it could produce such drivel for all eternity.

I am in the NintendoERA Discord (though that's a little too much for me to handle as I feel like an old fart in there ha), among other ERA-related ones.

i dont really post but i enjoy reading the jpopsuki discord shitposting. it's one of the only asian music communities that isn't super annoying or weeby. it helps that the community doesn't move super fast like most other discords and is full of mainly grown adults.

I used to be part of 2 I posted in regularly, but the bigger one had loads of people I couldn't fucking stand so I left. And the other is Cringe ERA which we're such a small group we've grown close.
