Haven't used it in awile but it's ridiculous 4 prompts just to get to the library is there anyway to bypass this?

This will usually happen when it installs a patch. Aside from that you shouldn't be seeing so many prompts.

Also when trying launch some old games you might get a prompt to login again but this has nothing to do with windows iirc.

Uplay is a fuck.

You mean Ubisoft Connect on pc?

I don't get your issue, you can set library as the first page that pops up when the software opens and anyway it's always a click away.

Ok, now I get it, you mean windows "security" pop ups.

Yes, as Atom said, it does this only when there's an update.

Jeff Gerstmann had this while trying to run Avatar on stream today so it's not just you.

I get at least two, sometimes three or four, when there's an update.

Last update triggered about ten of them, though, which was beyond annoying.

It's been like this for years.
I agree that it seems like it must be developed by people that run an Admin account as their user account and/or disable UAC entirely - because it's the worst user experience of any storefront on PC by far.

Steam is the only client where I'm not having to think about manually applying updates, going through multiple UAC prompts, having to log back into my account etc.
It's almost impressive how bad everyone else is at this.

Yeah, Ubisoft Connect does this a lot to me. I suspect it's because I don't open it that often, so whenever I do there's at least three or four updates queued up and each one triggers UAC. It's really annoying and at times indistinguishable from an infinite loop, because there's no actual progress bar or dialog to suggest that anything's being installed or that any progress is being made.

It's amazing how there are so many platform clients on PC and so many of them get something wrong in their own unique fashion. Even Steam's gotten weird with a lot of new UI bugs introduced with their recent framework change but that's all trivial compared to this bullshit.

Of all the software installed on my PC's, Ubisoft Connect is my least favourite. I typically have three PC's in regular rotation, and Ubisoft Connect aggressively logging out and throwing up a prompt every time another PC wakes is so frustrating. It does not handle a multi-PC environment gracefully at all. They need to take notes from the Xbox app of all things, which only throws up a prompt once you've started a game, and asks what you want to do.

Further, it doesn't expect the "remember me" checkbox and treats each PC like a stranger once it's logged in elsewhere.

Such a garbage application, the dev team should be ashamed of themselves.

lmao just booted it up, installed a bunch of patches, and no prompts whatsoever. First time I've ever seen this.

Between Ubisoft's years of UAC incompetence and EA's "hey it's been like 3 days, who are you again?" for two generations of clients, it's really pretty impressive how these companies refuse to even attempt to be half as user friendly as Steam.
