Weird how your mind works. When I see footage of Reforged I say; doesn't really look that different. But in this side by side comparison you really see the difference.

Edit: And a slight error in the video at 1:29. He's comparing the mountain king with the paladin there.

High/Blood Elves got a lot of love in reforged I suspect Invasion of Quel'thalas will be more exposed than in original. Also after watching the video it's hard not to say that buildgs look a lot better in Refoged.

I think the models look great. Imho Reforgeds biggest problem is the empty terrain. It has textures with higher resolution but it is so flat and there is barely any foliage or additional geometry like stones etc. It just looks flat, empty and always the same.

why can't we get fucking cool cloaks in WoW already instead of the same boring old design since classic. likes one that go over the shoulder.

any way all the models look great for Reforged, they've done a good job

This is my favourite RTS ever, so I'm definitely getting it. The China situation makes it really unpleasant to support these developers though.

I've listened to a talk from a developer once, about how the terrain in strategy games needs that flatness. I was told the StarCraft II terrain detals were dialed back because of this.

I think this makes sense for multiplayer and the videos I saw were multiplayer maps but I hope that the singleplayer campaign offers a little bit more variety for the ground textures and isn't so bland.

The cloaks in those images are made for 1 character.

In WoW, all items have to scale across what is now about 20 races and 2 genders. Making something with a bit more static mesh can cause so many issues considering it would have to be recreated for each race + gender combination, and take into account the thousands other items that it can be combined with.

did they ever describe how the female versions of hero units will work?

Are they just randomly in the pool or do we select them?

The Female demon hunters look great and I wanna see Paladins and stuff

Night Elves and Undead aren't done yet? those would be real challenging to get right imo. These look fine, about what you'd expect.
