I like the GV Mac and Cheese. Cheap if you're on a tight budget. Ditto with their pasta :) I also like their thin crust pizza

I think their freezer bags are pretty good for the price.
They never have these at mine. I don't know if they don't carry them or they're just really popular and always out of stock.

I like these better than the Totinos ones. These have a crispier crust, and they taste a bit less acidic than other ones.
These things deepfry perfectly. Thanks for putting me on! Try a deepfry with refined coconut oil. Completely defeats the purpose of cheap nuggets but still lol

Came in here to say the same thing. They may not have all the wacky limited edition Pop Tart flavors, but they've got the classics and they're great.
Their lactose free whole milk tastes better than Lactaid, and they definitely put something in the pineapple soda to make it extra addictive.
Also, unrelated: the frozen five cheese lasagna doesn't have any competitors as far as I know (I think Lean Cuisine discontinued theirs), but it's divine.

I can't really think of any that are better, so much as I just think they're the same (though that still makes them better from a price standpoint I guess).
They had a strawberry banana smoothie for awhile that didn't seem to have a name brand comparison that I really liked, but it disappeared a couple years ago. I guess it was most comparable to the Naked brand, but it was always with the other fruit juices, while Naked is up by produce.
Oh, I will say I'm pretty happy usually with stuff from the bakery. Their unfrozen take and bake pizzas are also really good for the price (though I usually add extra stuff on top before baking).

For whatever reason their pistachios are great. Me and my wife personally think they are better than Wonderful or whatever name brand it's called.

Their wet wipes are way better than Wet Ones. There's more liquid in the container, and they're way more durable. Even the dispenser design is better; it's a half circle opening with a notch, so you can reach the wipes without taking off the top to feed them through.
(some) of their off the shelf cookies use different ingredients to the main brand that I'm not allergic to, so they win by default there. For me, their fudge stripes are aces.

It's really strange to me but GV potato chips are better than Lays Classic. They each have 3 ingredients: potato, salt, and vegetable oil. Lays can use soybean oil and GV does not. GV is the clear winner on taste and costs much less.

Huh. I'll have to try some of the items mentioned above - I've not sampled more than a dozen or so or GV products but for those I have, Great Value has easily been the worst store brand I've come across.
Godawful sauces and dressings, the worst nuggets I've ever eaten and some of the most woody tasting frozen vegetables on earth.
Kind of impressive as most store brands are more mediocre than outright terrible. But maybe they just give us shit here in Canada.

I was surprised by that when we first tried it, wife loves it, makes a great sweet chili wrap with shredded chicken.
Recently tried the "Medium" Restaurant Salsa....holy fuck it is way better than it has any right to be.
Pretty much everything is up there with name brand. Only exception is pasta sauce, you can taste the cheapness there though.
I use to faux parfaits with it. It's a little too sweet and runny for me, though.
