I'd normally get to bed at 3-4am so this is quite a pain. I used to work third shift so I can relate.
Obviously it's more complicated but Kirblar is one of the most vocal Bernie haters and when you say shit like "fuck the DSA" and call them "no nothing luddites" and basically trashing Socialists every chance he gets it's toxic. As for whether supply is a problem, it depends on where you live. I understand things are complicated but for example in LA there are more vacant homes than there are homeless people so that's probably where that critique is coming from.

Supply is a major problem and it's disingenuous to try to ding Warren for saying so or boost Bernie's pursuit of rent control as the exclusive real solution to housing when Bernie is also saying that supply is a major problem.

"more vacant homes than there are homeless people" is a complete nonsequitur when talking about the supply problem. You cannot force a private homeowner looking to sell their property to simply allow the homeless and low income to move in because it's a good idea. Even if you could in theory do this, the homeless could not handle the maintenance, utilities, or taxes on such a property, and rarely would it be located near public transportation, social services, or jobs they need to survive.
When people say there is a "supply problem" they explicitly mean there is a lack of affordable and/or subsidized multi-family housing units being built that can accommodate low income adults and families. This housing is explicitly NOT being built where it needs to because of NIMBYism- nobody wants a low income apartment complex or a development of subsidized housing units in their backyard.
Because Bernie, unlike the person who wrote that DSA tweet, understands that we have a housing supply problem.
You can hate Kirb all you want but it won't make that tweet any more correct.
My hot take is that there's still 3 months until Iowa and Pete, while currently the flavor of the month, might be surging too soon and can absolutely fall back toward the pack by then.
