Regarding the thread, why can people have "normal" gender reveal parties like me, only a small balloon (no helium) and a small dinner, that's it. I don't like these things but for my girlfriend it was important, i understand guys wanting to please their partner, but please be normal.

Yeah. This is tragic accident but it's not like hiring a plane to by with a sign is some extreme thing.

I don't see how people think it's ridiculous for people to hire a plane to fly a sign. That's pretty much a "common service".
This is where I'm at, flying signs aren't new or crazy.

They hired a service and this appears to be a tragic accident. The parents are in no way responsible.

The biggest and most important is the baby shower (Talking about gifts and party).
Gender reveal is a more small , family only reunion, normally a gift is not required. obviously as you can see, there are people that loves to super shine in anyway they can.
Gender reveals have become very big here in Mexico en the recent years, but people are taking it too far lately (maybe due to COVID? who knows)
People hire planes to announce engagements or ask someone to marry them. Is that news?
I think their point is that people hire planes to fly a sign for anything and everything, including unimportant things, all the time.
Don't get me wrong, gender reveal parties seem silly (I still don't know if they're separate from a baby shower), but hiring a plane to fly a sign for something silly is not new.
