Chris Claremont created and wrote Kitty in X-Men and Excalibur for years and hinted that Kitty may have been Bi. Today Gary Duggan includes this scene in Marauders-an X-Book starring Kitty, now known as Kate. For context in this scene: in Marauders #1 Kate got tattoos and then when she was finished kissed the male tattoo artist. She later died and was resurrected - she went to get tattoos again and this time kissed the female tattoo artist. (Note, she just looks like Illyana, not actually Illyana).

Additionally-as a cool coincidence, Ellen Page played Kitty in the movies.

Here's an article from a few years ago detailing why many people were upset that this part of her character had been erased:

Why the erasure of queer Kitty Pryde matters

Due to marry her longtime teammate Colossus after an on-again-off-again relationship that now spans several decades, Kitty Pryde has been an X-Men mainstay since her first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #129 in 1980. This was during the infamous Dark Phoenix Saga, in which the X-Men left Earth and...

After whatever was going on with Courtney Ross ended and Rachel vanished into the ether, Kitty reappeared in the Mechanix miniseries. While the quality of said series is certainly questionable, it's important because Kitty actually legitimately becomes canon bisexual. She and the out mutant Karma develop a strong attraction to each other, and they very nearly act on it, though circumstances aren't ideal and it ends with their relationship up in the air. After studying her history, a common theme emerges: Kitty has really close, bordering on sexual, relationships with pretty much every woman she's ever been close to (with the exception of Storm), and writers never, ever bring it up.

The only reason people erased her bi-ness was because they wanted her as their waifu.

.. Is kissing the tattoo artist some sort of payment in the US ? Cuz I don't get it.

Which is stupid since her being bi doesn't negate that possibility lol
I don't get why some men think being bi is basically being a lesbian.

Kitty is the favourite character of middle aged men who write themselves into the comic to date her.
Bingo

This doesn't seem all that healthy...
You'd be shocked how many times this happens in media.

Some bullshit that if she's bi, she won't like the straight guy bullshit. Kevin Smith logic.

Didn't she JUST die? She's back already? I can't keep up with the Mutant resurrection shit going on currently.

Otherwise, I really like that art, might have to pick up Marauders when I swing by the shop later.

The entire issue is an ode to her relationships with other women.

She rides horses along the beach with Emma Frost as they plan for how to get revenge on Sebastian Shaw.
She gets tackle-hugged by Illyana.
She and Rachel share a meaningful look.
She kisses her tattoo artist.

Mutants have conquered death and can resurrect any mutant at any time.

Kitty was the exception for several issues, but they finally figured it out at the end of Marauders 11.

I..
I still don't get it and I don't think I will lol
First, comic books thrive on callbacks. Like, that's most of the reason they've existed for sixty years of (shaky) continuity. So yeah, if they can put in a callback to some minor event from a decade or two ago and make a fan go "I got that reference!" they will.

Second, comic book nerds (and also normal people) like (in theory) flirty, aggressive women handing out kisses to people they just met. Yeah, it's not something that happens in real life, but radioactive spiders don't give out super powers in real life either. It's all part of the fantasy.

The Negative Zone
Al Ewing's got a record for this. I think he's the one who confirmed Loki (in the Agent of Asgard series) as both bisexual and genderfluid.

Ah, of course it's Ewing. So this is the new Guardians book? Might have to check it out. I'm really glad to see these new books embracing the history of Marvel's bi characters. Definitely makes me want to jump back in.
