Geralt is a really good person in a very bleak, oppressive world. Women are attracted to him because of his character. He also doesn't fear sorceresses or magic, which likely makes him much more attractive to the sorceresses.I see people always wanting to fuck Geralt kind of like having "Witcher fever".
That is the plan, yes.

Not Joffrey himself but the actor that's playing Joffrey in the play.Really? I have no memory of this ever happening and that sounds like a particularly memorable scene. Man, it has been a while since Joffery was alive.
This is such a garbage take, as if there is a massive difference in quality between CDPR's work and Sapkowski's. The Witcher 3 is literally just a continuation of the plot, themes, world, and characters from Sapkowski's novels. The Wild Hunt, the conflict between the Northern Kingdoms and Nilfgaard, nearly every major player and antagonist in the main game are all Sapkowski's creations, written as closely to the source material as possible. CDPR did a good job with many of the characters they added, but the vast majority of the characters, plotlines, and setting are all Sapkowski's work they adapted to a game. They also have a ton of respect for his work (as evidenced by the painstaking detail with which they stuck to the source material) so I highly doubt the writers at CDPR would agree with your take that the series is 'Z tier fantasy'.This is more or less the general consensus, the Witcher saga is Z-tier fantasy trash while the short story collections The Sword of Destiny and The Last wish are good. Its a case I think in which Sapowski created a great universe and characters that was best utilized by other writers, in this case CDPR. He's kind of like Gorge Lucas in that way.
Its also kind of why its hilarious the way Sapowski gets so butthurt over the success of the games, dude thinks he's Polish Tolkein when he's not even a Brandon Sanderson.
It's a bit of a tangent, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did have birth control. One of the cool things about The Witcher is that there are many educated people in the world who have a fair understanding of medicine. In the last book a read, an herbalist even concocted a sort of Plan B potion.Witchers are fear and hated. And while he may be a "good person" he also almost always only works for money.
I like to think he gets in the bone zone so much is because he is sterile so they aren't afraid of pregnancy. Birth control probably being somewhat non existent.
Sorceresses don't fear and hate Witchers though, and he doesn't go around having flings with regular women. Him being sterile is a perk, not the reason they desire him. I mean the novels are pretty clear about why characters like Triss, Yen, Shani, and Keira are interested him. He only works for money, sure, but half the time he tries to resolve his contracts without bloodshed if the creature is sentient and can be reasoned with. He also goes out of his way to help disadvantaged people, even when there isn't money at stake.Witchers are fear and hated. Wait, I'm only on Season 3 of Game of Thrones, and I just got spoiled on Joffrey didn't I? In a Witcher thread too.Really? I have no memory of this ever happening and that sounds like a particularly memorable scene.Man, it has been a while since Joffery was alive.
Ugh, same. It's my favorite out of all of them, next to maybe the one with Essi Daven. ;_;I hope the show adapts "Something More"
That story hit me in my heart.

Its not a CG series but some of the people involved with those like the ones previously posted are involved at some level. Some people say that it's a CG series and others say the opposite.
Since when they announced the series.... and in this last thread too there's a lot of confusion.
LOL, how is this possible, didn't they dispatch an official statement or clarification?
He should be played by a Pole who is fit.
Lewandowski would be perfect!
None of those characters you just named are normal in the context of the setting though. Shani is an educated woman, the girl who was going to kill him is an assassin and a rogue, the silent priestess isn't normal either. Most of the women he gets with or are interested in him are similarly considered 'different' or 'outcasts' by society. Milva would fall into this theme as well, as would the Zerikanian women who accompany the dragon.Yen and Triss are the only not normal women I've read so far.
Shani was in med school (or whatever) and banged him after meeting him.
He also bangs a silent priestess the same day he meets her as well.
And another girl that plans to kill him as well, same day he meets her.
But it's power fantasy male stuff. He's super awesome and wise and girls want his D
That's a good point. As I read the books, I keep worrying that they'll run into a pack or ghouls or drowners as they travel through the wilderness, but it's generally the warring armies and the Squirrels they really need to worry about. Adapting the short stories would be interesting every so often, or for one season, but the big stories about Ciri, the war, and the Wild Hunt will have to be told to keep the series going. The biggest difference between books (esp. the stories) and games is that in the books monsters and Witchers by extension are dying breed.
The age of man is about to become full blown and monsters are very far and in between, while in games they are nearly every fucking where (due to gameplay reasons).
So in books Geralt mostly ponders about changing world and where is his place in it, while in games he just "fits".
I think they should loosely adapt Sword of Destiny/Last Wish.
I imagine they would need to adapt at least parts of it because it's how Ciri ends up with Geralt. Of course I would prefer getting the full story over just the end.Ugh, same. It's my favorite out of all of them, next to maybe the one with Essi Daven. ;_;

Only according to CD Projekt Red's clumsy fanfic math. He's over a century old but his body would be considered a fit man in his 20s.
Witchers are supposed to be amoral, monster killing machines. But Geralt is not that. He makes moral decisions many times. Yeah, money is a big part of who he is. But he's also the best there is. He comes and goes in kings' courts because all the big shots know Geralt means business.Witchers are fear and hated. And while he may be a "good person" he also almost always only works for money.

While Platige do mostly animation they did some work on "traditional" media (mostly ads reinterpretations of some Polish legends for Polish auction site) and historic stuff for museums, but they did vfx for Lars von Trier movies as well.Wait, someone said it wasn't CG. Is this confirmed? The place that leaked this was from a pitch by an animation studio, was it not?

This trailer really captured who he is.
Sword of Destiny is my favourite book, the only story I don't like is the Dudu one.
Something more, a Shard of ice and a little sacrifice are fantastic.
But it's power fantasy male stuff. He's super awesome and wise and girls want his D
Witchers aren't supposed to be emotionless not neutral. The emotionless part is just discriminatory fearmongering which Witchers sometimes use because it scares people off from messing with them and the neutral part is made up by Geralt to validate to people as to why he's not meddling in certain affairs no matter how much he gets paid. Its been a long time since I read the series but I always thought that who Geralt was suppose to be and who Geralt is, is part of the story's premise. Witchers are suppose to be emotionless/neutral/only working for money but most of the story threads involve Geralt discovering his emotions, picking sides, and often taking little to no payment for his services. I think Triss and others even call him out for hiding behind his rules when it suits him.
There are several stories in which he explains that, if I remember correctly one of them is where he's talking to Calanthe when he goes to claim CiriWitchers aren't supposed to be emotionless not neutral. In one of the early stories (not sure which exactly though) Geralt straight up confesses he made up the entire Witchers code he lives by to give people the idea that Witchers do live by some sort of rules instead of just being mindless killing machines.

I found the Dudu story fun hahaha You need some levety in that bookSword of Destiny is my favourite book, the only story I don't like is the Dudu one.
Something more, a Shard of ice and a little sacrifice are fantastic.
I'd like to see Kathryn Newton or a less known actress like MaeMae Renfrow as Ciri (if they go for an older version).
Same pretty much for all other characters. A fresh cast would be nice.
2019, I thinkThat trailer is going to be an interesting watch when they get around to it. anyone know when the scheduled release is of the series?
This video has some (recent?) quotes from a radio show interview with Tomasz Baginski. Explaining why it's live action and not animated. FWIW.
The third game even does this, depending on your dialogue choices. The whole Regicide secondary story with Djikstra is so good. Its been a long time since I read the series but I always thought that who Geralt was suppose to be and who Geralt is, is part of the story's premise.
