Wow, they graded their icon IN the icon. How meta.
I still dont' get how some icons can be so bad or non-descriptive. Like I could understand in a way a Sonic game having Sonics face as the icon or a single gold ring, or a Mario game having a cap with the M on it as those are iconc things but when you have some lesser/unknown game just have a weird symbol or character/scenery shot as the icon like it means anything to anyone?
Granted, I'm no graphic designer and couldn't make a nice text treatment or any art to save my life, but if a game already has a nice title logo and some art it isn't hard to combine them in a way that looks nice in a square so you know what game is what at a glance.

It deserves a special place in your website, something like "Do you think that something worst have been used as an icon? Let's find out in this website!"

These days, I always check. So many games right now I can afford to be picky over icon nonsense.
As well as the (intentionally) out-of-focus image giving it the impression of being low-res/quality it both fails to communicate what the game is/about and isn't evocative of its distinctive visual style in the slightest.
It's just exceedingly bland imo.
But yeah... Deadly Premonition! 🙅🏽♂️
I still have it unplayed on PS3, guess I'll just jump into that version...
Deadly Premonition is one of the few games where a really bad icon is fitting. I can't be mad about it.
