Please be open minded and try not to flame/belittle people for who they are rooting for, but at the same time try not to pass off too much judgement for a film you have never seen.

Unless it's Green Book. Then it's okay. Enjoy!

I'm really hoping that the opening will be as iconic and remembered as the last time they went without a host:

If Black Panther wins then it'll be confirmation that the Oscars truly are a joke.

It was a pretty good, CGI filled superhero popcorn movie, but that's it. Not good enough to be considered a Best Picture. It wasn't even the best blockbuster; that was Mission Impossible: Fallout.

Eighth Grade should be there instead

I almost want BP to win just because your vendetta against the movie is weird and sad.

BP winning is a whole better than BR, Vice, or Greenbook winning

BP really stands out when you look at the other awards.

All of the other Best Picture nominees have plenty of appearances in the Best Actor/Actress/Supporting Actor/Actress/Director/Etc. lists.

If the films I want to win win, then I will be moderately approving in a backhanded sort of way, and if the films I want to win don't, then I will declare that I don't care about the Oscars anyway, after sitting through all four hours of it.

I want Roma to win best picture and I want Spider-Verse to win best animated picture. I will also be rooting for Black Panther to win just for the salty tears.

But I don't truly care as long as Vice, Green Book, and Bohemian Rhapsody win nothing.

I didn't really care before, but now I just really want to see Black Panther win for the salt value alone.

The meltdowns would be fantastic.

Too bad it won't happen.

It is Best Picture worthy, IMO, but that wasn't the point. The fact that you have zero desire to look at the movie beyond surface level (it's a superhero flick) is bordering on parody at this point.

Best Picture isn't meant to be a contest to decide which movie was the most socially conscious of the year. It's for the best movie of the year, and Black Panther wasn't close.

Was it good? Yes. But numerous movies were better.

I hope Roma wins but i want to see if the Academy has the balls to have Black Panther as Best Picture (which I actually wouldn't mind)

It's between Spike Lee and Cuarón. Kinda would like to see Mexico continue dominating the BD category just for the trivia of it, but would be happy either way.

have you like, even tried to analize what it has to say about legacy and immigration? serious question because all of your criticisms seem very surface like and technical. I dont care about bad CG, I care about the narrative intent behind the writing and characters.

Yes, and I enjoyed it. This doesn't change the fact that it's a superhero movie that is heavily action based and doesn't have a great third act.

It's not up to the same level as other movies like Eighth Grade. No Marvel movie is.

On one hand, if BP wins. The meltdowns will be great. On the other, if Green Book wins, the meltdowns will be great.

Roma gonna win. Its the only out for the academy.

For Chaotic Evil... BR winning would create the biggest meltdown ever seen. I kind of want to see it now.
