With the new Steam Library UI you can add custom assets for box arts and logos and banners for games (granted you could add grid icons in the old UI). For non Steam games, it leaves you with boring old nothing. So why not spruce them up with some custom images? Much in the vein of the custom cover art thread, I'd like to use this as a place for people to upload custom assets that they've made for their Steam libraries as well as for people to request assets for games that may not have any.

I'll try to keep the main post updated if anyone posts assets.

If anyone is interested in making their own assets, here's the official asset information.

To get things started, I've made a few for a couple of roms in my library: Persona Q, Persona Q 2, and Persona 4 (which you can find in this here dropbox)

Good idea, and good job on those custom assets, OP.

This might be time consuming, but I'll gladly put some work for my favorite games.

Remember that non-steam games are still going to need an old style 460x215 grid cover, which is used when the game is displayed as the most recently played game in the Home section.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)

Also, Alone in the dark (2009) has been updated on steam but it's been done quite poorly, with a low quality background and a font that's taken from the old games instead of reusing the one that actually matches the game, so here's a fix:

Metro 2033 (2010) exists on Steam but it has been delisted, so it's probably never going to be updated for the new library:

If anyone is interested in making their own assets, here's the official asset information.

I made a few new 1280x720 logos for some games missing them. As long as high resolution assets exist, this is extremely easy for anyone to do.

I'll probably make some more, and possibly try making some backgrounds in the future.

Great thread, bookmarked.
I wish there was a program to help automatize all that, that gave you asset options from a repository of something and to easily install them.

Well damn... guess ill go back and make some at some point.

Thanks, added that to the main post.

Glad this is off to a good start...

Is there any way I can revert to have the client display the 465x200 grid images as before? I preferred them.

I will probably never understand why people make screenshots with phones on PC. Why?

For the Grid view that I'm using, I found out you can have ANIMATED cards! Which looks amazing... I'm hoping someone does a bunch.

Here's one for Dota 2 for example:

So do these artwork changes persist across computers and installs? If I reinstall Steam after a clean Windows installation will I have to do all these changes again or are they synced up to Steam's servers like your categories?

how did you create the animated art work?

or if you found it is there somewhere I can go to see more?

edit: nvm i got it. If you want to make your own animated covers get a video or gif and put it here. you can then convert to APNG and put it on the game you want.

Here's a box art and banner I made for Sonic CD, since it didn't have 'em before:

And a bunch of Final Fantasy ones (III, VII, IX, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, and Type-0 HD) hosted here.

Is there any way to grab the official box art/background/logo for some games? I have some non-Steam games that do exist on Steam. Would be nice to use the official art.

Would love if someone could make a custom banner for Doom... considering the one they're currently using is fan art.

Also, I think it might be interesting to put Steam Grid DB in here as they also have custom art:

Download and share custom video game assets and personalize your gaming library.

Watching this thread with great interest, thanks for making it. Already grabbed a bunch of covers off of SteamGridDB, but still need banners and logos for a ton of games.

Posters are mostly available online (steamgrid), and making the banners is easily done by cropping some wallpapers or bullshots. Finding or making the transparent logos though, is the biggest challenge for me.

I made my own box art for Sonic CD, which is based on a movie-poster-type-thing I saw on Google Image Search, using artwork made for the 1997 PC version of the game:

Here's a bunch of quick emulator box art. They could be a little more consistent (particularly Redream) but they're good enough for me.

Redream (US/JP): https://i.imgur.com/xESFdpn.png
Redream (UK): https://i.imgur.com/TMR9qh2.png

I was also more creative with some (Retroarch, Mame) than others.
