This is excerpt from an interview without context so it's hard to tell what Nomura meant by that tbh. I think it could mean they have been vanished since UX until they was summoned back at the end of KH3. I highly doubt he means they have vanished since the epilogue of KH3.

I think you are mistaking it with someone else. He is not talking about the girl who appeared in the trailer.
I don't know which part of the tweet made you think that way, but the character from the trailer is 100% Sora.
We don't have much information so it's hard to tell, but makes me wonder if there is more "Lost Master" than ones we know so far (MoM+apprentice). Like we don't know who is the black coat guy next to MoM in the trailer yet... so we might fight some Lost Masters, but maybe not the foretellers and certainly not MoM.
Well the epilogue of KH3 is quite literally named "The Lost Masters" in theater mode and Eraqus's chess game shows 7 black pieces that have animals on the chess pieces (and the animals actually match the Foretellers animal masks) so I believe that the Lost Masters are the Foretellers, Luxu and the Master of Masters.
Yeah I think it's a possibility. Ava always stood out from the rest and I feel she might be replaced as someone else like Sigurd you mentioned. I could see the main villain for KH4 being Sigurd (if he is the one in the black coat next to MoM). It' hard to tell how we will interact with the rest of the Lost Masters because we don't know how freely Sora will be able to travel his original worlds in KH4.
I can't find the interview right now and I know this post is a joke but Nomura said in an interview a year or two ago that "the next mainline KH game will come out much sooner than you think" and that it won't take as long as KH3's development time "because it will be on Unreal Engine just like KH3 so we are used to the engine".
