A company that closed its local division and is managing affairs remotely from abroad is an indication of a lack of seriousness and a lack of faith in the future of the region.
A big step backward while the rest of the industry takes steps forward.
Eventually?Xbox will eventually just be the Americas and UK. Not sure if that's a winning strategy...

Just 6 months?Isolated regional withdrawal or something more?
Seems like negative news over and over for Xbox the last 6 months.
Sometimes people don't want to accept the truth.Last time this rumour came up from the same guy. Jez said it was false. Guess we will be finding out who was right pretty soon…
how would Jez know better than a guy lives there and speaks ArabicLast time this rumour came up from the same guy. Jez said it was false. Guess we will be finding out who was right pretty soon…

Unless he's doomposting about the brand ending or random projects lmaoJez is always going to take the Microsoft PR/spin side of things until he's absolutely forced to acknowledge reality.

Not official yet, but they've already stopped selling SX in India. Only ones you find are massively overpriced Series S.
It's very close already, depending on how you count them.Soon there will be more countries that have a Microsoft Gaming Studio than countries that sell Xbox.
Only the UAE according to Xbox themselves. What other countries carry Xbox officially in the Gulf? Just KSA or Qatar, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait as well? I reckon if it's gone in KSA, it's also gone in other countries.
Going to be a whole lot more stopped shipments then soon enoughCompany stops shipping devices to places that don't buy them

we didn't have one for a decade and it's doing fine.Man. The industry needs a strong Xbox brand. I don't like where all of this is going
So Europe and Japan are next?Company stops shipping devices to places that don't buy them

i mean might as well already happened in many european countries. there's no xbox games at stores anymore here and like one xbox in the corner next to 300 PS5s.
It really doesn't, I say this as someone who owns a Series S and a PS5. Microsoft will still be heavily involved with games even if they stop making consoles between their game publishers/developers and their role in the pc market place. Even if you hyper focus on consoles, Nintendo and Sony are essentially in a league of their own with how much better they're selling compared to Xbox.Man. The industry needs a strong Xbox brand. I don't like where all of this is going
They are not even the market leader of these countries. But if they manage to become a market leader just in NA and UK, it would be still a massive success. But their current strategy won't help that.Xbox will eventually just be the Americas and UK. Not sure if that's a winning strategy...
How is the industry doing fine? There are layoffs announcements every other day and hardware sales are globally slowing down
none of these things would change if xbox consoles would sell much better than they are now.How is the industry doing fine? There are layoffs announcements every other day and hardware sales are globally slowing down
