I think it's obvious they're gearing up to be platform agnostic and a massive publisher rather than a platform holder. But it's not something they'll admit until later down the line like with almost everything else.

Not official yet, but they've already stopped selling SX in India. Only ones you find are massively overpriced Series S.

You need to be in those markets to actually grow in said markets.
They need to stop shipping devices to Europe then too, seeing how much they sell there
Leaving a market entirely is not a small thing that you should just dismiss and downplay
i mean might as well already happened in many european countries. there's no xbox games at stores anymore here and like one xbox in the corner next to 300 PS5s.
I can't believe how much MS fumbled, at the very least xbox had the default controller to play on PC and sony is even taking that market share from them.
It really doesn't, I say this as someone who owns a Series S and a PS5. Microsoft will still be heavily involved with games even if they stop making consoles between their game publishers/developers and their role in the pc market place. Even if you hyper focus on consoles, Nintendo and Sony are essentially in a league of their own with how much better they're selling compared to Xbox.
They are not even the market leader of these countries. But if they manage to become a market leader just in NA and UK, it would be still a massive success. But their current strategy won't help that.
How is the industry doing fine? There are layoffs announcements every other day and hardware sales are globally slowing down
none of these things would change if xbox consoles would sell much better than they are now.
