Battlefront III Is Not Being Planned By EA

Battlefront III is currently not in the plans for EA's Star Wars titles.

"An exclusive report by Bespin Bulletin on Instagram indicates that EA has no current plans to develop a Battlefront III Star Wars game. Dice is focusing its efforts on a new Battlefield title set to release in 2021, leaving the studio with little time to develop anotherBattlefront game. On the Star Wars front, EA is currently working on a flight simulator game named Project Maverick with Motive, which will also release in 2021, and a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order with Respawn, expected to hit sometime in 2022."

Who in the world is Bespin Bulletin.

Can you explain in your OPs the accuracy rates of the people you make threads about, Reverse Flash.

Unsure how reliable Bespin Bulletin is but all of this sounds perfectly plausible.

Edit: Oh its a Reverse Flash 2024 thread thats why lol

Are they known for making weird threads? I'm out of the loop

Lol just the one previous one I know where he posted about Horizon Zero Dawn sequel news from a UK Playstation magazine that isn't officially with Playstation and has gotten major gaming scoops wrong before. I coulda sworn there were others but I'm mostly just joshin him. He's still good people.

Eh, think a next gen Battlefront could have more potential. Wasn't really feeling Fallen Order, got about half way before just stopping.

Terrible source but obvious conclusion. We already knew they were gonna follow up on Fallen Order and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that EA will steer clear of the Battlefront controversy. At this point, I'm just disappointed we're giving them clicks for something anyone could've told you.

Why sit on battlefront? Didnt it sold very well?

Is this to focus manpower on battlefield?
EA screwed up so bad that multiple governments started writing up new legislation against them. Safe to say that Battlefront will never come back. Best case scenario is a spiritual successor with a completely different title (Watch Fallen Order 2 have a battlefield or battle royale multiplayer)

As much as I want other developers to have a shot with the Star Wars IP so that we could maybe get more Star Wars games, I also really want a next gen battlefront 3 I can't lie.

I think everybody knew they were gonna focus on the next battlefield but i do expect a sequel to battlefront evenually, they both made huge amounts of money

I feel like this rumor is a conjecture based on the fact that their exclusive Star Wars license runs out in 2023.

It would be a shame it they let the license drop right after realizing that SP Star Wars kills.

Probably the most random and unreliable source imaginable but sure, I'll bite. I don't particularly care about whatever DICE is doing given their recent output so whether it's Battlefront, Battlefield, Shrek, Mirror's Edge, whatever, they're fighting an uphill battle and they have to prove their worth with their next title.

As for Fallen Order 2, Respawn needs to take their time with optimization and get the technical issues sorted for the sequel but other than that, I'm excited as all hell.
What is EA even releasing this year, besides Madden/FIFA?
FIFA Legacy Edition for Switch.

It'll be back when they start cranking out more films. EA doesn't have that many franchises that can do 10+ mil and Battlefront is one of them.

And people are generally pretty positive about Battlefront 2 now. Gamers have a short memory.

Guess it makes sense to focus on the less tumultuous game franchise. Despite the marketing Battlefront 2 had one of the worst receptions of this generation and who knows how much extra effort EA had to dedicate to making it the bearable experience it is now.

Makes sense. They need to save the Battlefield franchise. Dice has been spread too thin between Battlefield and Battlefront. It would make sense that they are working exclusively on Battlefield 2021 until it releases.

Man, the universe just really does not want a game called "Star Wars Battlefront III" to exist. I thought it'd be a shoe-in for next-gen, just with a slight gap to help the BF2 stigma to fade from memory a bit.

I don't see there being enough time to finish a Battlefront 3 after Battlefield 6 before EA's license is up, if there's not even any pre-production or plans at this time. Can't quite speak on the validity of the site if any track record there just lines up well with conjecture or they actually have an inside track.

Personally, I'd love a focused attempt at a third game that isn't built on microtransaction involved unlocks with a stronger showing out the gate in content.

Curse of the threes.

We're never going to get a Battlefront 3 at this point.

I don't think it's a coincidence that both Battlefield V and Battlefront 2 received their final content updates within a month or two of each other.

It's gotta be all-hands-on-deck for the next Battlefield at DICE.

Never getting an rpg again are we? Although trying to do that with the story group sounds like a nightmare.

I'm very excited to see what they can do for a next-gen Battlefield. I hope it's next gen only and it would be nice if we see a CG trailer soon, one that represents the new mechanics that are possible in game.

Didn't IGN put a tweet out a couple of days ago saying that Dice were working on a new Battlefront? Or am I tripping?

I remember last year there was something about BF3 being at a very early stage where they were focussed on a mode with seamless land to space combat but it could of been a load of crap.

For the record, Bespin Bulletin is actually pretty damn accurate with Star Wars scoops. Can't speak to this one or their credibility with video games, but their Star Wars stuff is usually pretty good.

Aren't you thinking about the original Battlefront III? Because that's the same pitch the original BFIII had back when Free Radical was doing it:

Seems to make sense. DICE killed support for both BF:V and SW:BF 2 within a week so i guess they need the resources for the next Battlefield game.
Oh, and please let Project Maverick be a VR game.
