PUBG back to over 1 million concurrent players after release of patch #24 (New map and features)

PUBG patch #24 has been released this week (wednesday) and since then it cracked more than 1 million concurrent players every day.
The last time PUBG had over 1 million players was in October

The highlight of the update is of course the new snow map (Vikendi) but there are also a lot of other improvements as well as a new survival pass than runs over the next 10 weeks






The survival pass (and PUBG) is also the most sold item on Steam (during Steams winter sale)

Just as a small reminder on the status of a "dead game on it's last days" like Era keeps saying at every possibility

I got a winner winner chicken dinner in a squad the other day. First time I've even been in the top 5 I think. I don't play the game very often but I came back to try the new snow map. Fun game, battle royale still isn't my game type of choice but when I do play it, I play PUBG.

Watched JackFrag's video of the map featuring the dinosaur park, looked like a fun map.

Tried it again last night. I like the new map, but people still mostly play scared hiding in grass or camping in the bathroom of houses. Still very boring unless you land in a super busy area right away. The game is not for me.

I really like the new map, although I find it a bit small some times. But better than Sanhok (the jungle map).

The new map and parachute overhaul are awesome and the game runs great on my 970 again. It's a great patch.

The game runs more fluent every day. And the parachute overhaul is almost a gamechanger.
I don't care for that season pass bullshit, but good work Bluehole.

I haven't played much in the past two-three months but I put a couple hours into it yesterday and I'm straight garbage now. Can't get a kill unless I'm camping a house and someone wanders in.

I really really enjoy the new map, allthough it tanks my computer even harder then before.

But my gear really need replacement.. sooner rather than later Ithink :P

they probably couldn't bring it earlier because of a deal with microsoft (1 year console exclusivity?)
but it didn't turn out very bad for them since it sold 8 million copies there.

Well, .Blackout kicks the shit out of PUBG on console in terms of performance. And I much prefer pure first person perspective in BR in too. On PC PUBG is probably great but I hated that fucking game when I tried it on the X1. It was unplayable.

Yeah. OP made a comment about how Era keeps saying the game is dead and I'm just clarifying that it's the peeps on console that are the ones saying that, because it is indeed dying console. On PC it's obviously still healthy.

I don't know about the stats on console and how it compares to other games, to be honest. But take a look at my edit in my first post in this thread and at all the comments two months ago and where the game is now. Sometimes it feels people want this game to fail but at this state nothing will ever happen to describe this game as a failure. Its success was and is so massive that even if it would be dead in a year, people will talk about it for many, many years.

My squad is back after many months away, Vikendi is awesome and the game feels better. Despite the flaws there's nothing else like the PUBG experience.

More people should try Ring of Elysium, PUBG-like game but with different traversal abilities and LOTS of QoL stuff such as auto equip of attachments, less lag when picking stuff up etc.
Also, it's free and has a winter map. ;)
I'm only posting it here because the games are very similar in style and tone and might appeal to more people.

I am not sure what it is, but when I played before the update (and after playing some hours of ROE), this game feels like it has heavy input lag in first person. Friend and I were trying to run to a door and open it like you normally would, but it felt as if the character was drunk and was always a step late :(

The current update has a fullscreen bug. The game starts in borderless window even when fullscreen is selected.

To fix it set it to borderless window in the options and hit apply. Then set it back to fullscreen and hit apply. Has to be done every time you start the game but should be fixed soon

Yeah, from what I've seen and heard, Ring of Elysium is like the upgraded and more polished version of PUBG. But I guess it's hard to gain attention for a "yet another BR game" these days.

I don't like the game much, but I always wonder why so many people here hate PuBG and fortnite... Each to the own.

Goes back to play OutRun.

The snow map really is a great map. It brought back that classic PUBG feeling that was lost in the other two maps.
