In the beginning, there was despair.
Nintendo and Game Freak had announced Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon for Nintendo 3DS. All hope was lost. Pokemon was staying with the 3DS. It would not come to Switch. Switch would not get consolidated Nintendo support. It was doomed to failure. This was the end, it was basically going to become a new Wii U.
But then-! Nintendo and TPCi confirmed a new Pokemon game would come to Switch at E3 last year, with a release date of "2018 or later" given. After that they proceeded to go silent and say absolutely nothing,
In the months since, Pokemon fans have gone fucking crazy. We've spent months trying to will an announcement into existence. Nothing has happened. Rumors have leaked, some believable, others not so much. Nothing has come of them. The admins and mods on this site have even taken to trolling us. Renowned journalists like Tom Phillip on Eurogamer routinely troll us. But our hype has not been subdued. It shall not be subdued. It cannot be subdued.
For we are Pokemon fans. We are long suffering. We are used to having our expectations crushed on a routine basis. This is not new for us. It shall not break us. So, join us for another 400 pages of peak insanity and inanity alike. The Pokemon Switch Speculation Project has started.
