Take it as you will.

Last part

"But as the Xbox community, what they should feel this is a huge investment in the experiences they are gonna have in the xbox ecosystem. And we want the xbox ecosystem absolutely the best place to play and we think game availability is absolutely part of that."

The "Xbox ecosystem" comment makes it sound like they definitely want to keep it exclusive

I take it as I'll be playing ES and all their other games on Game Pass, with a few of the smaller titles possibly making it to Switch.

to save others time - he just says it'll be a case by case basis and he wants the xbox ecosystem to be the best place to play games. Still nothing concrete.

I've seen a lot of people acting as if this means that future Bethesda games might make it onto PS5, when it seems pretty obvious that "case by case" is referring to the possibility of those games coming to Switch.

They will all be exclusive unless Sony pays MS which I don't see happening.

If they were going to release them on Playstation there would be no point in purchasing them in the first place.

It's not even that. It's them not saying an outright "no" because that's bad optics for them. Saying "we're open to possibilities!!!!" leaves them in a position where they don't have to make a definitive statement on anything so they can't be raked over the coals for lying.

Based of what is being said, I would take it to mean that games are going to be on Xbox, PC, and XCloud, with the potential for some games to come to Switch (or Switch 2.0) later on.

Where do you get that idea from. Do you really expect Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield to be on the Switch?

Due to console warriors, I'd imagine he doesn't want to just say it yet because no matter what he is pissing someone off. When Starfield is revealed and they show the systems at the end of the trailer we'll know, but that's a ways off.

Fallout 76 and ESO will get PS5 upgrades.

Doom Eternal will launch on Switch.

Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo will launch on PS5.

Everything else (TES6, Fallout, Doom 3, Wolfenstein 3, Starfield...) will be Xbox and PC exclusive.

Don't know why people are expecting anything else.

For those that can't watch

This is pretty clear cut IMO

Lol I don't know why anyone would expect to play these games on PlayStation anymore.

Yeah the big guns are not coming to PS5..I'm pretty confident of that. Switch I could maybe see.

For sure, I don't think for a second this statement is actually implying anything, but there's a lot of people around taking it to mean there's a chance we'll see Elder Scrolls 6 or Starfield or whatever on PS5 and come on.

Where do you get that idea from. Do you really expect Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield to be on the Switch?
Of course not, I'm saying that if this statement means anything other than "we don't want to say we're locking up all Bethesda games to our systems" (which I don't believe it does), then it can only be referring to the Switch, where Microsoft has already published games and where Bethesda titles like DOOM and Wolfenstein have already seen success.

For anyone having trouble reading between the lines, just answer one question for me:

Why would the company
that has been criticized throughout the entire last generation
for their lack of exclusives
spend 7.5 billion dollars
(nearly twice as much as what Disney paid for Star Wars)
to own some of the most beloved IPs in gaming, along with their incredibly talented developers
and then continue to release games in those IPs on competing platforms
when they want you to buy an Xbox Series S, an Xbox Series X, or a PC
when the platform they competed with most directly last generation
demolished them in units sold
practically solely on the basis that they had incredibly compelling exclusive games that were not available anywhere else
?

Go on, I'll wait.

Yeah, PS5 owners aren't seeing DOOM 3, Wolfenstein, Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout 5, or Starfield.

I don't see how you could listen to what he actually said and expect these games to show up on other platforms that aren't Xbox/PC/Gamepass. "We want the Xbox ecosystem to be the best place to play, and we think game availability is absolutely part of that" strongly implies they intend for these games to be tent-pole releases that make their platform very strong and competitive.

Whatever I guess i won't be playing these games till I get an xbox series x or maybe never. Sucks that the playstation fanbase who has gotten these games for the last two gens will be screwed out of not playing these games. Also i don't want to hear the xbox doesn't get playstation exclusives excuse. Sony never bought out a freaking publisher like this. It just sets a bad precedent in my opinion.

There is no simple answer to this question that makes a good soundbite. Once the story is simpler, they will announce the exclusivity more clearly.

Live service games will continue to be sustained and updated on all existing platform, and probably even next gen consoles.
PlayStation timed exclusive agreements will be honored.
Future Zenimax games will be exclusive to the Xbox platform (PC/Console/GamePass).
If GamePass streaming is available on other platforms, you'll be able to play XGS titles there too.

On the one hand you have all of this.
On the other hand Xbox is pro-consumer so.
They kinda balance each other out.

/s

Because he literally is saying, at the very least, that not all of them will be exclusive.

Man people really chomp up all this PR fluff.
