Glad to see Trials of Mana in the Top 5 - makes sense...should have quite the Nostalgia among Nintendo fans just based on Secret of Mana on the Snes and how Nintendo pushed that one.

I assume 7R is sold out because it just vanished.

UK Charts: FIFA 20 reclaims No.1 from Animal Crossing: New Horizons

FIFA 20 comes out top in its tussle with Animal Crossing: New Horizons this week in terms of UK boxed game sales. The f…

Interesting:

"Despite the continued lockdown situation keeping High Street stores closed and the absence of any major new release, boxed game sales rose 16% week-on-week with more than 234,000 titles sold. Xbox One sales rose 23% week-on-week, PS4 sales are up 19% while Nintendo Switch game sales increased 9%."

Sakura Wars could not make it into the top 40 list. UK is not a friendly market for niche jrpg's unless you are Persona but this one will tank everywhere. The game was doomed from the very start I will be frank, but the fact they did not make it multi-platform with Switch (a platform receptive for rpg's) does not make any sense. A niche game like this needs every possible sale and it is not in a position to potentialy afford to lose close to 50% sales from international markets.

Persona hasn't been a niche series for a while. Actual niche series are the ones where even charting is considered a success - ala Sakura Wars. Also puts the Trials of Mama chart position in context - it did solid considering the market.

But yeah I don't really know what Sega was thinking having it as a full exclusive when they already went multiplattform with Valkyre Chronicles.

Corona time is where the big established IPs shine the most - they are safe bet for customers as well for the retailers in terms of the stock situation.

Always nice to see MK8D charting very high and even increasing WoW. All but assures that new people are buying and presumably enjoying the Switch.

MK8D casually getting a 2x WoW increase 3 years after launch.

Do you know what the barrier was to get in the top 40? 1k? Less?

Seems like the digital figure shared by Vandal was indeed download codes. Seems like a strong start for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon too. Beyond the usual face, these are great legs for Just Dance and Mario & Sonic.

Nintendo have been pushing Mario & Sonic, Brain Training and Super Mario Maker 2 and the family angle a lot these last few weeks here in Spain so I would expect these games to do pretty well in April.

I expected France to show more love for Trials of Mana. In Germany it was the second best selling game on PlayStation 4. It was 4th on Switch.

I don't exactly know but yes, usually top 40 cut off it is around 1.000 units during a regular week. Anyway Sakura Wars is below that because it did not chart in PlayStation 4 top 20 either.

Mana Nostalgia in Germany is quite big though it probably did quite well in France...for all we know Switch and PS4 versions could be a No. 6 and 7.

Probably because the inital shipment was not big enough.

Game is completely out of stock on Amazon and Fnac for the Switch version. It is #8 in th eshop too.

Someone in the media create thread said SCE was listed in the special thanks section of the credits. They probably simply couldn't do a switch port.

Who is buying Gta5 seriously

I've given up on trying to figure this out. I've thought for a while now that it would slow because it's super old and it seems like everyone would have it.

The numbers it has done and the consistency of sales are simply incredible.

Hmm, I guess new consoles will be selling during lockdown even despite the new gen coming.

It's easy to overestimate the next-gen effect. Lots of people want to buy a system now, especially in a situation like this. And if you're interested in GTA, why would you wait for next gen? There's no next-gen GTA confirmed, not even a remaster or enhanced edition of GTA5.

Next-gen isn't very appealing right now and it's taken a huge hit with everything going on. Rumors of high launch prices and delayed games just don't make it very enticing to wait for what looks like a very slow start for next-gen. Especially if you want a game like GTA5 that's right there to be played on some very sweet hardware right now.

That's a big drop for RE3R

Persona 5 Royal opened higher thanks to Spanish localization. It'll probably outsell the original which is a good thing.

Grand Theft Auto V can't be stopped. It quietly sells over 10.000 units (a figure even AAA games struggle to sell in week 1) in a random week of April and outsells a big release like Resident Evil 3 despite the fact it was released 7 years ago. Persona 5 Royal sold around 80% more than Persona 5, now the question will be its legs.

GTAV also has very high digital share compared to most games, even games that outsell it physically get pushed behind when including digital (UK/EMEAA charts).

I wonder if Rockstar bothers with a GTAV next gen version or will just hope bc will make the game sell anyway.
