Her legacy is assured, so she doesn't need to be picky about roles and can have a few disasters to her name if need be.
She was already in the Hobbit movies so...
Out of those three, only Uncharted is actually bad.
Venom is a fun watch, which is what you'd hope a Borderlands movie would be at best.

Oof that's a real bad thumbnail they picked. Looks like the wig is about to blow right off.
I mean go look at her IMDB credits over the last few years. She'll sign up for anything at this point.
She already worked with Eli Roth (and Jack Black) in House with a Clock in Its Walls back in 2018. I'm assuming she thought it'd be fun to team up again, but yeah - she definitely sticks out here, in a good way.

It seems we are still dealing with the long-term ramifications of David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie.
What are you referring to? Her starring roles since 2020 are Nightmare Alley, Don't Look Up, Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, Tar, and Mrs. America. Other than Don't Look Up that's a pretty solid run. Three of them are Best Picture Nominees, and Pinnochio won Best Animated.

To be fair, Thanksgiving was genuinely fun. Likely his best movie ever
Cate Blanchett is giving me "how you doin fellow kids?!" vibes in this movie. I like her, but she doesn't seem to fit this at all. But I'll gladly be proven wrong
