Davis, 51, said he was on a United Airlines flight from Denver to Orange County, California, on Saturday with his wife and three children when one of his sons asked a flight attendant for a cup of ice.

"The flight attendant either didn't hear or ignored his request and continued past our row," Davis wrote. "I calmly reached behind me and lightly tapped his arm to get his attention to again ask for a cup of ice for my son. His response and the events that followed should stun all of us."

According to Davis, the flight attendant shouted, "Don't hit me!" in response.

"I was confused, as were the passengers in front of me who witnessed the exchange," he continued. "I thought nothing of it other than this particular employee was incredibly rude and blatantly wrong in his accusations of me hitting him."
Davis said six FBI agents and local authorities boarded the plane and placed him in handcuffs in front of his family and then removed him from the flight.

"I was -- and remain -- humiliated, embarrassed, powerless, and angry," Davis wrote.

After explaining the situation to law enforcement, Davis said they determined the flight attendant was "inaccurate" and the agents apologized to him and let him go.

And DIA is a United hub as well. Given how many Broncos fans here look at TD with reverence (almost to the level of Elway), United is going to have to apologize profusely for this, and fire that flight attendant. Hope TD sues them as well. I can't imagine the amount of emotions that would pour through me for being handcuffed and carried away in front of my wife and kid like I'm a criminal for getting a FA's attention.

There's a reason why I'm not flying any other airline except Delta and maybe Southwest.

Messed up for sure, the flight attendant should be fired for lying.

Will wait and see what United says but at the least that flight attendant should be fired and probably have some charges brought against them for misusing police resources over some bullshit.

dumb ass flight attendant was too clever for their own good. they accurately assumed they could weaponize the law enforcement system against a black man, but they did not expect that black man to be famous, or to be able to get lawyers and force someone to investigate.

Beyond ridiculous. Hopefully he sues the pants off them, and the attendant needs firing.

And flying FROM Denver. Wild. The flight attendant is a fucking pathetic person and should never be allowed to work a job in that field again.

Why are they not talking with witnesses and getting both sides before going straight to detaining? Obviously, we all know why. But very fucked up. Wish he could sue the cops and fbi, too.

Going by his statement, it seems like everyone surrounding his seat was aware that the flight attendant acted irrational. I bet some people spoke up, but they were ignored because they don't fucking know what they're doing.

Flight attendant acting like he's on the soccer field, and to do that to TD of all people. UA better cut that check quick.

Poor TD and his family. One of my first NFL heroes. It seems that no one who has met him has a bad word to say about him.

Fuck that's crazy. I'm sure flight attendants are super sensitive given all the crazy people on planes, but that's ridiculous.

WTF is going on with these flight attendants lately? Didn't we just have that other story a few weeks ago where Black men were kicked off a flight by one because they "smelled"?

Ex-NFL player Terrell Davis says he's on no-fly list after being escorted off United flight

Ex-NFL running back Terrell Davis shared an email apparently sent by United saying he's banned from flying the airline until further review.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis, who was handcuffed and taken off a United Airlines flight earlier this month, said the airline has now sent him a temporary travel ban notice.

On his Instagram Tuesday morning, the former Denver Broncos running back posted a screenshot of an email apparently sent by United's Passenger Incident Review Committee

United's policy is to "delay or refuse any passenger whose conduct or condition threatens the safety of the employees and passengers," the screenshot read.

The statement goes onto say, "Based on the nature of the reported incident that occurred on UA1061 on July 13, 2024, this shall serve as a notice that you are not permitted to fly on united airlines or any regional carrier operating as united express until a review of the incident by United's Passenger Incident Review Committee has occurred."

I thought I just read somewhere that United apologized and lifted the ban?

Really dumb move to do this in an airport that serves as a United hub to a legendary player with millions of Broncos fans.

Dumb shit companies and people don't learn the stove is hot until they burn their hand. Just sue the shit out of them. They won't learn but you'll get money for your trouble and they'll be a little more likely to shut the fuck up next time.

God I hate bullies.

That's got to be some kind of automated system that someone forgot to not press send on, right? How stupid do you have to be to dig further into fucking your brand over?

Yeah, apparently it's an older email that Davis just saw recently. United have said the ban was rescinded the day after the email went out and the flight attendant is no longer with the company. Still shitty that it went this far, though.

If that flight attendant isn't named they're just going to do this somewhere else. And the person most likely won't be famous enough to have their voice heard.
