Wouldn't call it a rumor since it comes straight from Toei's site.
I wonder when it will take place, I'm going to guess between Moro and Granolah or after EoZ.

This should follow Broly's movie rather than whatever is happening with manga.

Maybe Cooler appearance and team up with Frieza, Golden Cooler etc.

I hope they just flat out ignore the Moro arc, and do something original. Since Toriyama had a hand it, in though I doubt it.

The manga has been very careful to not shake up anything too much. Probably because of this movie

Basically the manga arcs revolve around Goku learning to UI good and now Vegeta learning God of Destruction techniques.

It would make sense if the movie starts simply by reestablishing that Goku has been training with Whis and Vegeta with Beerus and that way you avoid adapting the manga arcs and move the story forward

Cool to see more but I think I've finally burnt out on DBZ stuff after the Broly movie. Unlike many I found it to be a repetitive drag that didn't do much of interest outside of the new background on Broly. If its something more than screaming, power ups and flashy trash I'll be in.

Remember that this movie needs to be another "mine" for the cross media stuff (gacha, figmas, DLC for games, art) so I expect something "new" from it to expand on that. Toei/Bamco treats manga like it doesn't exist, this has to do a lot of work.
Either new form/character or something like that.

Glad it's a movie. Hope they go outside the current arcs because I don't want to see a series with the manga arcs post TOP. They're pretty boring.

The manga can be summed up to "Goku learned to UI but not quite and Vegeta learned to God of Destruction but not quite"

You can just state those 2 things at the start of the movie and the audiencie will be caught up because nothing in the manga has shaken up the status quo or introduced any major concepts

Really wish the anime would come back, but I'm still excited for a new movie. Dragon Ball on the big screen is something else.
