Is it happening?

HOLY SHIT!!!
Capcom (for your next-gen fighting games, I know SFV supports PS4/PC cross-play), Bandai Namco, SNK, Arc System Works, you all better follow suit.
Then PC users can decide to filter and only play against PC users. That doesn't support having fewer options.I don't know the great experience of PC players running the game with less lag while fighting console players, and the console lagging behind desyncing games kind of soured me.
"But what if they improve netcode ?" but it's still bad, because the PC user still has less native delay ... So unless they can guarantee that both users have the same delay (adding delay back to PC on the fly) then it's whack and not a fair environment.
And rollback also means more people to play as it makes previously unworkable connections (i.e. high ping, likely due to distance), possible. Also results in reduced wait times.I think crossplay and rollback should be asked for more.
Crossplay alone is great since it's combining multiple player pools which only improves the experience.
And rollback is great since you get to keep the same input timing even with less than optimal connections.

Well patch was released for PS4 and i guess XB1 half hour ago but still nothing for PC and Switch. This better include PC and Switch MK11. I'm guessing from now on out all platforms will get patches/updates at the same time.
This is not an issue in SFV and Killer Instinct and every other PC -included crossplay fighting game. Please stop with the fear mongering.Yeah but you're back to square one, console is gonna go back to being the most popular platform and they won't want to play against PC since they'll have a laggier version which means an unfair advantage.

Would this be just for like playing versus against other users or would your character experience, koins, items, etc be able to carry over
SFV's issue is with the poorly implemented netcode, nothing more. This is not fear mongering and saying it's fine in SFV is not just a joke it's actual insanity.
Depends on if it's also cross-progression.Would this be just for like playing versus against other users or would your character experience, koins, items, etc be able to carry over
I doubt PC and Switch will be included, given how they're outsourced and receive updates later.

Come on man, don't shit on my dreams.I doubt PC and Switch will be included, given how they're outsourced and receive updates later.
Honestly, it kinda started already with indie fighting games. It's just that outside of Capcom, the big boys haven't done it.Hopefully this starts to become a trend amongst fighting games.
but sf v had crossplay day 1?
I mean, you're not describing a problem with input limits between console and PC, you're describing SF5's ultra shitty netcode.
This is an extremely good thing for players.
That's why rollback netcode needs to become the norm.Maybe it works great with rollback since it's less dependent on delay ? I have not tried it on Killer Instinct.
But example, in DBFZ, the ps4 runs with 4f of input lag, you get that down to 1f on PC, if both players were to connect and there's 2f of delay online, how is the PC player not at an advantage ?
Curious how this patch gets dropped 6 hours before the TGAs, where the game was first announced a year ago 🤔I wonder if this was supposed to get announced tonight. Fucking amazing news though
