They're not even a year old yet if I recall correctly. Has there been any rumors on what kind of project they're working on, besides the "single-player focused AAA" stuff that pops up on google?

When I saw how he wrote "NeXT," I thought he was hinting at joining Tencent's NExT Studios for a second. But that's spelled with a lowercase x. Still, I wonder why he wrote it like that.

Said this in the Sony OT, but his use of the words "sad and shocking" are interesting. You aren't shocked by your own departure if you leave a company by choice.

Difficult to speculate what went down, but its not as easy as just gathering round a bunch of veterans and end up with a successful AAA studio.

There have been so many created in the last few years. Would be interesting to see how many of those actually work out.

Wonder whats next for Mumbauer. He clearly did important work for Sony, but he was clearly not happy and departed. Even though he seemingly has good relations still with Sony would be surprising to see him come back.

I think he has good relations with people from Sony, but not Sony the company (if that makes sense.) Based on Schreier's article he was attempting to get ambitious projects off the ground at VASG that would move them away from just being a support team. But the higher-ups didn't seem interested in supporting his ideas.

What an interestingly worded statement. Granted he's not necessarily that HE'S sad and shocked. He could just be saying that he knows it's shocking that he left.. but.. still weird phrasing. Interesting that he highlights that HE brought in all these amazing people. And hmm...

The obvious answer: he's going to NXT with the WWE.....? Yea, definitely.

Reading that tweet, the impression I get is that he was forced out. I would be interested in hearing the whole story of what happened.

The only NeXT, spelled like that, is the software company Steve Jobs created after he left Apple. He then sold NeXT's operating system back to Apple. The OS was subsequently repackaged as Mac OS X.

Didn't knew about that. Only watched his interview with mumbuar and it was a really great interview without any bs. Sad to see jaffe pushing such toxicity

This might explain the "NeXT" sentence in his post, as it could be reference to Steve Jobs forming NeXT after getting the boot. The tone of the post does seem that way.

Total speculation though.
