I think the FTC will step in for sure. Microsoft has a scummy history with monopolies so they will take that in consideration.
Yes? They no longer want to be independent in the gaming industry.
Feels like a lot of publishers wanna bail out of the industry.
Scary.
There were quite a few anti-competitive accusations levied at Windows back in the day. But that was quite a while ago.
For obvious reasons that many in here have already stated it'll never, ever happen, but MS would probably kill to have EA under their banner.
Imagine how much Game Pass would explode even more if FIFA (or whatever tf it's called now) and Madden launched directly to the service every year.
Think about it, Def Jam on BC!

Though I'm not sure how relevant that is today.
It's utterly pathetic
I am nearly salivating at the prospect of bioware and the Dead Space teams being allowed to just make whatever they want. But microsoft buying EA would probably edge into monopoly territory. If disney passed on EA (and I am like 30% convinced they will eventually try to buy sony) and apple never being serious about gaming, that would leave one of the other publishers. I could see take 2 goig along with it so they don't have to rely on GTA online microtransactions every year.
Kindof hoping embracer snas them u so they can officially become the 3rd party juggernaut they have quietly been building themselves into. Also they might actually make a new command and conquer game.
At least the earlier thread was actually more classy.
I only really care about the Bioware stuff. I can't say I care who buys them.

Apple of a decade ago? Never. Apple of today? It could actually make sense. They've done mature content on ATV+ to the extent that I think they'd at least entertain it.
But acquisitions didnt cause what happened in the 80's.

If anything the gaming industry consolidating is what got us to this point, IMO.
We can also look at the mobile phone market and see that doesnt have to be the case tho.
Hell yeah! With the announcement of a Xenogears and Vagrant Story sequel!
Respawn.Bioware would be the only thing at EA that would even remotely interest me. I think getting them away from EA would do wonders for their studios.
