I'm taking Hybrid Theory.

What are you taking? Mix CDs are cool too you just need to give us a track listing.

I remember I was working this night shift janitor job at the time over the summer, and had this and a bunch of burnt Grateful Dead shows that got me through a lot of shifts that summer. Honestly, it was probably mostly burnt Grateful Dead shows, (just because they are like 3 hours long, so a couple of shows gets you most of the way through your shift), but I vividly remember this album coming out that summer and listening to it a LOT.

Foo Fighters - In Your Honor (Disc 2). Came out in 2005, Disc 2 was pretty much my album of the year.

If you haven't listen, please do so. It gives me the melancholy winter blues, but it's such a joy to listen to.

The MP3 CD I made with hundreds of songs on it because I had a disc drive capable of making MP3 CDs and a Walkman capable of reading those discs.

Close, but I'm probably bringing Live in Texas to get the mix of Hybrid Theory and Meteora in one go. No doubt in my mind that it's Linkin Park though; hell I listened to Hybrid Theory on my walk into work last week...

This is technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.

Also, I think the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack or Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Greatest Hits.

In 2005 I had abandoned CD players and was rocking an iPod.

To actually answer your question though, probably Tool - Lateralus.

I just go by albums released in 2005 and this one is the one I can't get enough of.

Otherwise I create a MP3 CD with albums released that year and add to that:

  • Gorillaz - Demon Days
  • Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
  • Boards of Canada - Campfire Headphase
  • Matt Elliott - Drinking Songs
  • Broadcast - Tender Buttons
I think that should fit. Maybe with 128 kb/s. Honorable mentions to CunninLynguists, Kate Bush and David Thomas Broughton

Neva Dinova - The Hate Yourself Change

One of the best albums ever, I reckon. Probably heard by fewer than 30,000 peopke, too...lol

If I had to guess, I've probably listened to it more than anyone in the world, given that it was the only disc in my CD player for about 4 years and I'd listen to it daily. Still listen to it cover to cover at least a couple times a month 16 years after I first got it (in 2005,coincidentally)

2005? There's no question in my mind what my choice would have been:

And for bonus points, this was almost exclusively played on the discman I kept in my old-ass Taurus at the time.

2005? Pretty sure I had an MP3 player by then. And it was probably full of FF7-10 music lol.

anyone who aint burning multiple tracks onto a single disc in fucking 2005 is doing it wrong (if they havent already moved to an mp3 player)

carrying around an album cd in a discman/cd walkman that aint a burnt disc is a fucking 1990's move, not a 2000's move

I'm so old, I didn't realize this was correct.

So my answer is now every CD I owned, which included 5 Rocky Horror soundtracks.

By 2005 I was on my 3rd MP3 player. I still bought CDs for my car though (and still do.)

Oh, and Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb

I had an iPod in 2005 and prior to that I'd squeeze around 4 cds into a jewel case so I'd always have multiple albums/mix cds on me

The original Mortal Kombat movie OST. Good mix of songs for variety and high energy.

Oooh, it would probably be an burnt CD with songs off of Demon Days, Get Behind Me Satan and American Idiot. I know American Idiot was the year prior but I really loved (still do) that album so it would have carried over some jams.
