Is Quiet the worst character design this gen?

Quiet's design isn't extremely bad, it's that the justification is shit and Kojima itselfdidn't take it seriously when he wanted to show us her in the rain.

I'm sure there's worse like random Blades summoners in Xenoblade 2, but she's probably the worst well known one.

Every time I think of Quiet, I just remember that really awkward cutscene where she dances in a big cage as Venom and random Mother Base members just...silently watch. I think the soldiers might express joy? But Venom just has his usual thousand-yard stare he always has...I don't care to look it up and remind myself. Words and deeds.
Ignoring all of the garbage derivative anime game character designs, maybe yes. Don't even care about the sexuality it's just an unaesthetic design choice.

I think so. More than the design itself, it's the way it's used in the cutscenes as gratuitous objectification.

Even worse, the artist is a women. Not only men thirsty for those thighs.
This takes the cake easily. Kojima at least came up with excuse for Quiet to be barely covered.
There are definitely worse designs but the whole "words and deeds" thing really elevates how bad it is.
I think Quiet is pretty cool.

It's not necessarily the absolute worst, but there are factors that make it appear even worse:
- It's a triple-A product by an acclaimed producer, a respected developer and a giant publisher. You don't have much in terms of expectation from an erotic visual novel made by a guy in his bedroom, you expect some sort of decency by Konami and Kojima.
- They gave the stupidest lore to justify a deeply sexist design, as if having such a character design in such a context were not enough.
- The tweet people are linking above shows that the authors are even smug about this design: they actually find it genius, and look down upon those who think it's just a random sexist element in the game. Talk about smelling your own farts.
