Am I alone here? I know games will come, but I'm honestly struggling to justify its place in my house. It's become an exclusives box and I'm not sure I need that.

I have a beefy laptop on the way, and I'm wondering if I can get over the fomo and just wait for Sony titles there. Ironically folks say having a PC means you can get rid of an Xbox, but I'm almost having the opposite thought.

I'm playing my Series X and Switch almost every day. 🤷‍♂️

It's a god of war ragnarok machine for me, but I only play on consoles for exclusives at this point, rest is on PC (if I didn't have a PC it would be series x for similar reasons)

Switch has gotten tons of play from me for the mass amount of exclusive releases every month lol

I haven't played much of anything in months. I played through Cyberpunk 2077 recently but besides that all my devices (PC, Switch, PS5, Deck) have been sitting idle.

I mean....everyone has their primary console and are as a result not playing others. I literally have to blow dust off my Switch for my annual "play through one or two games", same with my PC.

You're not alone. Both my PS5 and Series X have sat unused for months. I fired up the Xbox for the first time in I don't know how long to play the Street Fighter 6 beta this past weekend.

Meanwhile I play my Switch daily.

Same, but with Switch it's mainly YouTube before bed and Picross lol. I plan on going on a PS+ Exclusive spree soon enough tho, and I've been building a collection of PS4 games I missed or didn't finish.

Main console is Series X -- between the games I buy and Game Pass it's difficult to find a reason to turn on another machine atm.

I do play a bit of PC too but it's kind of annoying that at 1440p, my 1060 will chug with some relatively low spec games. That, and I game on a 4k oled anyway.

yes but for different reasons, i just don't really play games on console much anymore

i fired up Horizon 2 yesterday and put it down after like 30 minutes. i think that's the most game time i had with the console

You are not alone. I have a half written thread post about me somewhat regretting buying one.

It's a god of war ragnarok machine for me, but I only play on consoles for exclusives at this point, rest is on PC

100%.

=======

That being said, I have an aging graphics card and it's undeniable for now, PS5 offers me a better experience.
I need to start reframing my purchases around that.

My Switch is dead to me since I got my Steam Deck. PS5 I still use, and PSVR2 will increase that.

As long as FFXIV exists, it'll get play, but I don't buy many games for it anymore because nobody makes anything interesting.

I haven't turned mine on since November 2021. Can't believe how quickly I dropped off after being a Sony diehard since the ps1

Just sell both your Series X and PS5 if you have a beefy PC and are willing to wait for Sony stuff lol

I fire it up for stuff I can't play on my 1050TI. Though I don't power it own nearly as often now as I used to. I wish we had some real next-gen Bioware-esque RPGs to play, sadly it looks like all of those are a long long way out, and only Xbox is getting Starfield.

brazil, unfortunately
my problem is that steam games are much (ok not much, but still considerably) cheaper in Brazil, so my PS5 is mainly an exclusive machine and since those are few and far between, I'm in the same situation.

Haven't had a reason to turn mine on this year. I got Elden Ring physical, but it's sitting unwrapped on a shelf because it played well enough on my PC. I purchased the $100 Firefly Edition of TLoU, but haven't started it yet. I don't think I'll be turning it on until GoW is out, which I absolutely want to play day one.

This year has been a Switch + indies year for me, and there has been a wealth of great games.

I have zero use for an Xbox since I have a gaming PC.

Yeah mine basically just sits there. Switch/game pass in constant rotation so I don't really feel bad about letting it sit there until something interesting comes along.

It's the only console that gets any sort of play from me. The only reason the Xbox gets used is for media apps in the bedroom because we have an old tv in there. The switch was given to my sisters and parents as they love playing party games on it… PC is practically a Roblox machine for the kids.

The only sort of gaming I do nowadays is for MP with the vidya budz who happen to be on PS5. Otherwise I rarely play.

Can't relate tbh. I use my PS5 every day and my Switch multiple times a week, but my Series X has gathered dust since like May. PS5 is my main console and there are always plenty of games to play on it.

Basically all I was using my XSX for was Game Pass and even then it was all third party games so I let it run out last month. Been pretty disappointed in Microsoft's output this gen so far honestly. Hopefully next year is better for them because I kinda regret buying a Series X day one. I could've waited until now before getting one and I wouldn't have really missed out on anything at all. Looking forward to Starfield and Redfall at least, but most of the games from them that I'm interested in are still yet to release.

Peaks and valleys my friend. Played the shit out of my SD when I got it in August, haven't touched it since and been Switch exclusive. Once more PS exclusives and GP exclusive games drop, I'll probably play my SD more often.

I play it daily. Haven't powered up my Switch in 2022, but I'm taking a five hours flight later this month and will bring it with me

I feel you. I ended up selling mine and getting the Series S, the combo with Game Pass is killer. Switch will never be for me.

It's been pretty much all Deck and PC for me, lately, and I have all 3 other consoles

I finally got one last month and have only played about 5 minutes of UMVC3 on it and downloaded the ps5 version of FF7R. There's plenty of games I want to play like Elden Ring, Resident Evil 8, and Nier Replicant, but as you can tell these are all cross gen games. The first ps5 exclusive that I want is FFXVI and that's now until summer 2023 at this rate.

I honestly have been playing my Series X and PS5 pretty equally recently. My Switch is the one that consistently is collecting dust, although I've been playing some XB3 here and there.

I play on it every single day thanks to genshin impact. I also played the Street Fighter 6 beta on it.

If you haven't turned it on in months, it might be low enough firmware to jailbreak.

Strangely the same.

I did actually turn it on an hour ago to show my brother the FF7 Remake (and had a ton of game updates lol) but yeah I haven't been playing/using it for months. Mostly been on PC for whatever reason..

Same here. I bought it on launch thinking it'd be my main system like the PS4 and PS3 had been, but having gotten a Series X I find that Game Pass and a lot of the QoL features leave me wanting (and preferring) to play there instead. Only really use it for exclusives now, or blurays when the main TV is being used by someone else, which is definitely not how I expected things to go.

Same and there's nothing much on the horizon that I'm interested in that I can't purchase elsewhere. It's pretty much a Returnal machine for me but that's seemingly coming to PC so… yeah.

Are they still difficult to find? Maybe I should sell and give somebody else a chance.

It's amazing how much you can past mediocre performance if a game is good. I played Witcher 3 on a 670M at 720p because it played "well enough" for me. Ended up beating the game on that including the DLC. I thought I'd want to replay it again with much better hardware but realized I had no drive to, the experience was good enough on that ancient tech running the game at 35-45 fps lol.

I haven't powered on any of the big three consoles in months, and my RTX 3080 is only used to play World of WarCraft.

I got both next gen consoles and i only ever turn them on for console friends, exclusives or games where my progress or purchases are platform specific.

PC is just so versatile that it makes it hard too ever justify playing a game on my consoles, even when my pc is weaker than my consoles.

Once the live service games I play bring full cross progression my console gaming is going to significantly decrease.
