Yeah, I know, weird title... But hear me out: I've always been an Xbox fan ever since I bought a 360 back in '10. I bought it because I was primarily a Wii owner and I thought I was missing waaay too much. I loved the Wii, but the HD games that were coming out were experiences I was not able to get only with my wee little Wii. So, the 360 was my gateway into a new gaming world, and holy shit, I WAS missing way too much.
I've never really liked Sony's exclusives up until then and had never had a Sony console before, so the 360 was an obvious choice for me. And, from then on, I have always mantained a balance between my Japanese gaming fix with Nintendo's machines (WiiU/3DS/Switch) and the more westernized approach that Xbox brought to the table. So I got an Xbox One on release day and never looked back.
In 2017, Gamepass was released, and I was in for the ride. What an amazing idea, this is. I love it. I spread its word. Gamepass is fucking revolutionary. I saw its potential and started saving a lot of money due to gamepass. Outright stopped buying games, because the selection is incredible and the exclusives release day one... so yeah, this was the greatest boon to my wallet that I've ever seen. Gamepass is a gamechanger.
Fast forward to 2020 - I got a Series X day one and I love love love it. It's an AMAZING console, quiet as hell, a powerful sexy beast. Don't know if it's apparent, but I fucking love it.
However, I've been eyeing some Sony games for a while; I mean, Sony KILLED it during the PS4 era and I never played most of their exclusives... so I always felt like I was missing something, again. However, due to having never owned a Sony machine before, it was kinda easy to ignore the urge and live on... until the TLOUII 60fps patch. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. TLOU has always been the franchise I was most curious about, having never really played it, and it always seemed to be right into my alley, being about a near future dystopia and whatnot.
Thing is. PS5 is fucking expensive, specially in Brazil. I mean, it costs A LOT. Specially in the hands of scalpers... but, coincidentally, the same day the 60 FPS patch was announced, I saw that a retailer had received a batch of PS5 and it was costing the official price... So temptation was huge. I bought it. I fucking clicked the button and bought it. I've been loving it ever since, it's a great console (although it's ugly as fucking hell), and the games are sooo sooo soooo good. Like, out of this world good. I'm dipping my toes in Sony's world, and there are so many great games to explore...
Thanks to all the money I saved due to gamepass.
You see, gaming is expensive in Brazil. REALLY expensive. I have a comfortable situation and a great job, which helps me mantain my gaming hobby; I have a monthly budget for it. Gamepass helped me save a loooot of money, like a lot a lot. Due to saving all this money, I was able to get a PS5 and experience a whole new gaming world.
So yeah, Microsoft actually got me into Sony's ecossystem.
Thanks Gamepass, you're amazing. You keep being amazing, forever, please.
