Unless you're a character in a Japanese anime, one.

Unless something obvious happened like you punched yourself in the nose, you need to go to a doctor. It might be a sign of high blood pressure or something else that needs to be looked at.

Might be a burst blood vessel. Don't think that's going to stop without a doctor.

To be clear I've always kind of had these, they seem a tad more frequent as of late but it's not a new thing. I kind of just assumed most people had frequent nose bleeds.

Anime has lied to me

That's too many. It could be something as simple as a weak vessel that keeps popping, so a quick visit to the doctor could fix it.

I used to have them regularly - a blood vessel was weak and wouldn't heal properly. They eventually cauterised my nose which fixed it.

It's normal-ish, OP. I suffered from frequent nosebleeds (1-2 a week) in my teens and early 20s and then they randomly just stopped. Nothing caused them, they would just happen out of nowhere and I'd have to race for a tissue or some TP to stuff up there to stop them, then I'd pull a giant rope of clotted blood out of there 10 minutes later. Saw a doctor about it and they told me there was nothing I could do about it. It's definitely not a super common thing tho, so I get why everybody else in this thread is freaking out about it.

It depends. I'll get them occasionally in the winter/when it starts getting cold and I'm running the furnace, due to the dry heat. 10 in a month sounds like a lot.

Um one is too many you should go to a doctor unless you are from an anime. I've never had one I would freak out if I got one.

I sometimes get like 3 nosebleeds a day for a month or three months and then they never happen again for years. Same with headaches and lots of other pain. Dunno if that's related to my fibromyalgia or what.

I used to get them all the time when I was younger, these days they happen maybe once or twice a year.

Dude go see a doctor. I've had probably less than 5 nosebleeds in my life and haven't had one since I was like 10 years old.

To be clear and I know this is really crazy now I type it out but I kind of assumed my body was just doing away with excess blood...

Depends, if they occur just out of the blue I'd say see a doctor, but if it's due to digging for gold I'd say lay off and see if that helps.

You should go to a doctor. I'm pretty sure they'll just cauterise it so it doesn't bleed any more. It'll hurt like heck for a little while but that's better than just bleeding all the time.

I've had the cauterising done, and it was pretty effective at stopping the nosebleeds I was having. It's not as dramatic as it sounds - in my case I think they used acid, and it's actually a tiny spot (the blood vessel which is weak) that they need to treat. You don't need an anaesthetic or anything, a specialist will do it in five minutes. It was a little uncomfortable, but nothing terrible - less painful than pulling out a nosehair, for example :)

But in serious, 10 is way too many in a month. You should get the checked out.

Get it checked.

A friend of mine used to have a ton of nosebleeds. Was a vessel that needed to be burned shut. And after that he barely has them.

If you're getting any nose bleeds on the regular, that's way too much.

No, people do not just have frequent nosebleeds. How does that seem normal to you??

Do you really think the human body is just supposed to bleed out of the nose?

I used to get almost daily nose bleeds and headaches for years from sinusitis that was caused by having a slightly off sitting position which put pressure on my sinuses. But yea, go to the doctor. It could be something that is surprisingly easy to fix.

I vaguely remember getting one or two as a kid but other than that I can't recall getting one in the last thirty years or so. I'd probably get that checked if I were you.

Depends on the time of year, in the winter I can get 2-3 in a day because of how dry it gets. Sometimes 10-15 a month.

Check with your doctor for sure, but it might just be dry, get a humidifier.

could be signs of blood pressure issues, are you obese or have diabetes / heart / fatigue problems? Its not a great sign, definitely need to see a doctor.

During the winter when it's dry as fuck, I'd get at least a nosebleed a day. Most only last a few minutes, but once a year or so I'd get the high pressure nosebleed that lasts a good 15-20 minutes, and makes me feel noticeably lighheaded.

I do plan on going to a doctor sometime this year to get it cauterized though. In the past I just "lived" with it...

0 is the 'normal' amount of nose bleeds to have in a year so if you are having more than that I would seek medical advice. I haven't had a nose bleed in 30 years or so - it's just not a thing you have under 'normal' circumstances.

I used to have this happen more or less seasonally when I was a teenager; it was showering in the morning that made them start, and it was happening every few days. It was usually fine but there was one day where it just wasn't stopping; mom (who's a doctor) shoved a tampon up my nose to be safe and took me to the ER.

...it had stopped, so they couldn't cauterize it. Was weird to go to school for the rest of the day, after that. Can't remember if I've even had one for years now that I'm in my 20s though.

Ya'll nose bleeders need to see a doc, it is not normal. It's dry af here in the winter and I don't know anyone with regular nosebleeds.
