Every Rian Johnson film to date has been fantastic. One of the best directors working today. Can't wait.

I can't really go into too much detail about the film since I'm probably still under an NDA and the version I saw was the first cut they'd shown to a public audience. But, for what it is worth, I liked it.

To be fair, there's very few film fans that don't know his name. Disregarding whether that familiarity is negative or positive.
I've seen it. It's pretty solid. It was an early cut though, no credit sequence and some edits to be done. It's pretty old school, and kind of funny at times.
I hope it's the same trailer I saw too. They used it at CinemaCon and I dug the cuts and music, but that was to sell it so who knows if they got the rights to the song (which I think was Beatles...maybe Stones. Can't recall but it sets a good tone).

I hate that this has become a serious criticism in some circles. I guess Alfred Hitchcock is a hack too for trying to keep the audience on their toes?
Only one film doesn't fit that claim, and it's not the one most will think of.

Johnson is one of the more intresting directors working in Holywood, and one day we could have a thread about his existing films or his incoming one without people whos brains got completly rotten out by youtube videos coming in with their completly original and hilarious " HURRRR SUBVERTED HAHA " shitposting .

I still can't decide on whether or not Brick was really good or some corny shit. It's kind of both.
Why did you think Brothers Bloom was bad? I thought it was a cool caper with great actor chemistry.
