Didn't find a thread for it, but if it should be discussed in the Doom E. discussion thread, feel free to close or merge this thread :X

Going by a tweet from LGR

No LGR video today I'm afraid. One was in the works but then...

I got a Doom Eternal review code unexpectedly! So I've been playing that all week instead.

There's an embargo of course, so my review of it will go live next Tuesday the 17th if all goes according to plan

So expect reviews by Tuesday or Wednesday. Gotta say, good to see Bethy actually allowing reviews for this game before release.

Feels like Bethesda constantly change their policy on reviews.

So even Bethseda is certain that Doom: Eternal is a beast.

I'm looking forward to it.

Wait Bethesda allowed for review copies?

They abandoned that policy in 2018. And they did it in the most Bethesda way possible - they were "tired of reviewers complaining about not getting copies in time for launch in their reviews". That's what made them budge.

Bethesda Quietly Changed Its Review Policy Because of the Press

A couple years ago, out of a combination of controlling leaks and their own media, Bethesda changed up their review policy for games.

Eternal is a huuuuge game with lots of RPG like customization and grinding. Honestly expected review codes to go out sooner than today.

Unless there's something big they've been hiding, the only grinding seems to be from the battle pass like feature which is just for skins and stuff. Anything related to gameplay upgrades is found within the levels

Yeah that's what I mean. The levels look pretty big and you're incentivized to kill the bosses and find everything to unlock more stuff. As long as it's paced properly and the action is constant, it could be okay.

Doom 2016 was one of the games most fucked over by their old policy, I guess they're learning from their mistakes.

Honestly they should release this sucker early digitally given the current circumstances. Disney just dropped Frozen II on Disney Plus three months early. Let's go, Bethesda!
