So the "Inarius killed Rathma" bit is probably a swerve, right? When you see the visions of Rathma/Inarius on your way through The Black Lake, Inarius confronted Rathma for the hell key, and Rathma explains he saw visions of himself dead and the key being taken from his body. Fast forward, Lillith finds Rathma dead and takes the key from his body, and everyone is like "wow yeah can't believe Inarius would kill Rathma like that".

...but if Inarius really killed Rathma and really wanted the hell key, why would it still be on his corpse for Lillith to find and take later?

Also, I'm on team "Bloodied Wolf is Diablo", so far.

How long is the Beta live today? Thinking about buying the game today to get a least a few hours. I need the most expensive version, right?

is it better to sell or salvage for the long game? i assume salvage
Don't take my word for gospel as I haven't upgraded too much, but I will say I am definitely hurting for money much more than mats so far. Gold for upgrading, removing aspects and jewelry, setting new jewelry, making elixirs, etc. There's quite a few gold drains and it feels like I never have enough gold. On level 25, rare items give around 1k gold so you get gold relatively fast, but I have definitely started to sell items more to get some necessary cash.

Played a frost orb sorc which was my favorite in D2. Reached the end of the beta with lvl 21 and I really like it. But I don't see the point in continuing to play as everything gets wiped. I think I just wait until release.

Yeah was coming here to post this. Not only do you lose your progress, but I'm surprisingly interested in the story and World bits. I'll play around with Necro next week, but now that I'm sold on the game all progressing further does is step on the launch experience.

Had a blast with the beta! Rogue is so much fun. The builds I made were absolutely magnificent. Hyped to try Druid next!

Ok. So what's the most fun character to play with a controller? Going to start in an hour or so.

They're all fun IMO, and the whole game has been built with controller support from the ground up. Sorc feels significantly the most powerful of the three classes available at the moment, and Barb the weakest.

Barb is weaker but still fun for me. Especially when you get the right gear and can spin almost endlessly, lol. I like the multi-weapon system they have here.

How do you see the world chat? I could only see local and trade channels. I'm on PS5 btw.

It's not, but you're close ;)

What's up with not being able to use the Occultist? I was able to use it on my first character as soon as I got the codex, and yet on my second, I can't use it until I'm level 25 apparently. It says that I either need to get the codex, or be level 25...yet I started with the codex.

Guess I can always just use the first character to reroll suff, and apply aspects, but it still seems like a bug.

It's the player cap for the instance lol. If you thought it was too easy because you were only 12, it was the maximum amount of people :p

Seemed like less than the first time. The strange thing is that the second group had more level 25s than the first, and we killed it the first time with two or three minutes to spare. I actually think the second group failed because people were trying to be "helpful" and revive each time someone died. And people died a lot. Thing is, you're literally a 4s run back to the boss after you respawn, and it takes a few seconds to revive someone. Lots of lost uptime on the boss.

Really not a fan of the dodge having a 5 second cooldown. Being unable to dodge as much as i want as a Barbarian sucks.

Lvl 25, hardcore. Probably not going to play any more. I don't feel like doing side quests and walking all over the place. Dungeons aren't really worth doing at this point. I didn't even do half of them and I can think of a reason to continue on at this point.

Not sure if I'm going to keep my preorder. I dunno. Seems bland from a social standpoint. I probably fought along side someone maybe three times. Never more than one person during those short spells.

Items are lackluster. Legendary drops didn't seem to mean anything of too much importance.

Mana using spells. Ugh. I can cast something two, maybe three times, then spam my basic attack while waiting for the mana to fill back up. Cooldowns are dumb

Anyways...

probably, I got to 12 as a barbarian and wasn't enjoying, got back up there as a sorceror in <90 minutes
Damn, Sorc levels fast, is OP and fun to play.
Couldn't beat Den Mother with my Rogue but absolutely crushed her within a minute with the Sorc. Den Mother couldn't even spawn her adds...

Anyone know if there will be some type of adventure mode like in D3, where you can ignore the campaign and just lvl up your characters?

Probably down the line. I think they want us to play through the story early on. Or maybe after you've gotten through the story once?? I have no idea and devs may have talked about this.

When you use a shrine to unlock an attribute buff in a certain area, does that apply to all YOUR characters?? Or everyone logged in within that area on your server at the time?? Confused about that.

So far:

1. Graphics are great. Enabling DLSS shows no noticeable (to me) loss of IQ which enables 3440x1440 140+ FPS for me. Wonderful.
2. Sound is pretty good, although the music is average at best.
3. Dungeons could be a tad shorter. Are they not random? Seems like I get the same layout in so many of them.
4. Getting exhausted with loot as there's way too many legendaries thrown at me. Hopefully just a beta thing.
5. Love the world/dungeon design. Feels so much more like Diablo again.
6. Constantly hitting a queue even in the Sunday morning to log on is hopefully a beta thing.

I have to wonder if these servers are regional or what. I've had such good luck with minimal queues (less than one minute 90% of log ins) and have only disconnected once my entire weekend. I'm deep southeast US so it would make sense in my head that I've had better luck because I'm not dealing with the same amount of people regionally.

I've asked a bunch but no one has replied, which might be because we don't really know how they've set these servers up. I've seen people mention shards and wonder if it could be luck of the draw there as well.

The best thing about a mediocre soundtrack is Diablo has always been my favorite series to throw on background noise to, whether it be podcasts, music, or YouTube.

Well it looks like this will be a much easier choice between the PS4 Pro version and the Series S version than the RE4 Remake turned out to be.

Series S is double the framerate, with better shadows, and much faster load times all at a similar level of image and texture quality as the Pro.

It has to be, because since yesterday morning in EU, i had no queue at all on PC.

Yeah. I wonder if the devs have talked about it cause I would love to know. I'm loving it now since I've had unlimited access to hop in and out at a moment's notice this weekend, but will probably miss it a lot when I move to Portland this summer lol.
