Translation and summary:

Answer to question 1: Nero was a youth in DMC4, and they wanted to depict a Nero at his strongest in mind and body in 5.

Q2: DmC is set in a different universe than the main games and features entirely different versions of Dante, Vergil and Mundus.

Q3: After DMC3, Dante had so many techniques and mechanics, they didn't want to overwhelm new players coming in to DMC4. With Nero in 4, players could enjoy an entry-level character. That's also the case in DMC5, and both Nero and Dante return. In terms of story and being main characters, their roles are more or less equally important.

Q4: they have three playable characters, Nero, Dante and the mysterious new character. they wanted to give people the chance to play in different ways.

Q5: The bikes in DMC2 and 5 are different bikes. But they look forward to players discovering the connections between the two games.

Q6: Nothing to announce about DLC right now, but DMC5 is being designed as a complete single-player experience.

Q7: (About DMC x Onimusha) "Ooh! Good idea. I'll think about it, so please wait."

Not much here in terms of new info, but I thought people might be interested in knowing what Itsuno's answers were.

ROFL. I think I'm going to spend a good 5 minutes laughing about this.

DmC being a separate Universe is music to my ears. I hope hope that means no enemies cross over.

That said, the game wouldn't hurt by designing a enemy with a similar playstyle as dreamrunners.

So,there're more connections between 2 and 5 than just dante coming back from hell.
I'm curious now because i've never played 2.

Boggles the mind that there was ever a need to ask about DmC's canon relevance. Come on.

Dante defeats the gatekeeper of hell who turns into the bike Devil Arms and Dante rides it out of hell.

Calling it now. I just don't know what I want the name to be.

I hope Nero doesn't remain "entry level" the whole game. As fun as he looks in the DMC5 demo, I want him to have additional weapons or mechanics beyond his arms and the Devil Trigger I'm sure he'll eventually regain. Even one or two alternate weapons would be fine.

Also I wasn't keen on DMC4 dividing its missions between Nero and Dante, with no overlap. I hope Itsuno's team designs most levels to be played with all characters. It would boost the game's replayability considerably.

Given the number of people I see calling this game "DmC5" and thinking any white-haired character must be Dante, confusion over DmC's place in the series doesn't surprise me at all. Journalists with Capcom press sheets to refer to can't even keep it straight :P

I can't wait to finally play DmC & figure out why everyone hates it so much. It has nothing but good reviews, but the fanbase hates it. It's mind boggling.

I would of loved DmC and DMC to Coexisit, like alternate development cycles by different teams ala tryarch and infinity ward so I don't have to wait 5 years for my devil's fix.

Don't know if you've played the originals but playing the reboot won't elucidate this at all for you.

Cause it's a very good game, but just missing some really core stuff that DMC is known for.

It's like how RE4 is good but doesn't really have limited resources or a feeling of being powerless.

It (DmC) diverges from the roots in a way that deeply alienated people.

Holy shit you just reminded me of the reaction videos for the DMCV reveal trailer and how almost everyone thought Nero was Dante. That really devil triggered me in a bad way @_@

It's just a divisive game,it's a great and fun hack 'n slash overall.
Most fans just don't like the redesign and/or the aesthetic of the characters, enemies, weapons etc.
Some dialogues will make your eyes roll though, like this is dumb or trying too hard.
Combat lacks some depth compared to 3 and 4 but it's still a lot of fun imho.

If you really want to know and not just saying it, then you have to look at everything that happened BEFORE the game came out to know the friction between the fanbase and Capcom/Ninja Theory.

It's not really mind boggling at all.

Yeah, I've played all of them except for DmC. I think I get what you're saying though. It's like Metal Gear Solid V for a lot of people; great game, but doesn't feel like a "Metal Gear" game.

Nothing like that actually. MGSV issue was the story but everyone is in agreement that it's the pinnacle of MGS style of stealth gameplay. No one considers DmC to be the pinnacle in story or gameplay in the franchise except fanboys who think the hate is only because of hair colour.

I can only guess MGSV issue was Kojima being out from the project at the middle without ending the late chapters.

Glad to hear they aren't shunning away from DMC2 like many would here if they were in charge of this.

We've waited too long for V and I want everything that came before it to come together here. This game is gonna have something for everybody.

I'm gonna SCREAM when Lucia shows up

Q5: The bikes in DMC2 and 5 are different bikes. But they look forward to players discovering the connections between the two games.

The connection is that there is no connection and DMC2 has been written out of the supposed timeline.

*fingers crossed*
