🎩 Tips and tricks:
Cap the frame rate/potentially improve frame times: Download RivaTuner Statistics Server (if you use MSI Afterburner, then you already have it installed), input your desired framerate limit in the "Framerate limit" box, and hit Enter . Alternatively, those with an Nvidia GPU can either cap the frame rate at the driver level via the Nvidia Control Panel (requires the 441.87+ drivers) or use Nvidia Inspector to force a vsync internal lower than one-half (click the small tool icon to open the game profile section).
Note: Useful if your system can't maintain, say, 60fps and you're sensitive to the wild fluctuations, or you're experiencing uneven frame times. The greater window the engine has to render a given frame, if you're imposing a lower frame rate than the game can otherwise provide, may also help in alleviating stuttering related to data streaming.
Increase LoD distance: Open %LOCALAPPDATA%\BendGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini and add this section. (Credit to Queen of Hunting.)
Disable film grain: Open %LOCALAPPDATA%\BendGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini and add this section. (Credit to Queen of Hunting.)
Disable analogue stick deadzone: Open %LOCALAPPDATA%\BendGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Input.ini and follow these instructions. (Credit to alexwise.)
Skip intro videos: Navigate to SteamApps\common\Days Gone\BendGame\Content\Movies and delete bend_studio.mp4, ps_studios.mp4, and sie_presents.mp4. (Credit to someone @ PC Gaming Wiki via Skyebaron.)

Gonna copy and paste what I wrote in the PC thread

Days Gone has deadzone mouse movement. At least for low DPI users. When I move my mouse slowly it doesn't register. Such a shame it looks like they did a pretty decent PC port with all the options but the mouse movement doesn't feel right.

Absolutely gorgeous maxed out, haven't run into any issues playing with an Xbox One controller. Performance was above 120fps the whole time on 2560x1080 on a 3070, 3800X, 16gb.

Cant wait for my new pc to finally arrive, gave up on building and ordered a prebuilt for the first time and its been over two months since ordering and it finally shipped yesterday. This will be the first game to stretch its legs. Excited to see it in ultrawide.

running quite well, haven't dipped below 60 @1440p with a 1080ti max setting except shadows and 90 fov. Looks real nice too, much better than Horizen imo

The game looks fantastic and I am getting 120fps+ @1440p with everything maxed out and 90 fov on my 3080. I am really enjoying the game so far because it just feels so much better with KB+M. My one gripe so far is the lack of quick save/load but I can live without that...

Oof.. I'll pass then.. was noting in another thread, their interview which lacked any mention the mouse controls, and the near complete lack of mention from reviews, had me worried.

I have a feeling reviewers were asked not to even mention it.. why would you do a review for a PC Port of a console game and not discuss how the mouse control feels?

The console version had this issue on controllers when the game was released, lol. But they fixed the dead zones eventually so I´m sure they do this here as well.

Hell yeah! Same specs as my system only I'm running a 4790K. RTX 3070 at 2560x1080 is amazing. Excellent picture quality while not too demanding. GSYNC on my particular monitor (AW3418HW) keeps everything buttery smoove. Gaming bliss.
I'm getting some stuttering, what could help other than installing on SSD (which I don't have)
Consider dropping the coin on one. Even a $50 SATA SSD will do the trick.

Why is your dpi so low... are people like you why there are mouse pads the size of my desk?

I'm glad the performance seems good at first glance, Sony needed this to be solid after the disappointing launch of horizon on pc

I play a lot of competitive shooters and I'm used to 400 dpi and yes I have a huge mouse pad. I move the mouse with my arm for better precision, not my wrist.

My mouse is set to 450 dpi (it has 1800 and 3500 dpi options as well; 125hz/1000hz). And I use a regular sized foam mouse pad while only needing to move my wrist for complete screen coverage. I never found a combination of settings that made the high dpi settings feel comfortable to me.

I'd never play games like Days Gone with m/k though. I play all third person games with a controller.

Just noticed that this game is DirectX 11.

AMD Radeon users should try this if you're expecting lower than expected performance:
github.com

Releases · doitsujin/dxvk

Vulkan-based implementation of D3D8, 9, 10 and 11 for Linux / Wine - doitsujin/dxvk

It'll help with the draw calls and you should get better vulkan performance.

Low sens is generally much better for aim consistency. Competitive fps players tend to play lower sens. But tbh I play fairly high sens and I don't see the point of anything over 800 dpi, even though my mouse goes up to something silly like 12k. A lot of games don't scale their sensitivity well at all when you go over it, unless you enjoy barely breathing on your mouse and making a 180 turn.

So does it support any DualSense features if it even supports DS natively at all?

I knew I wasn't into competitive fps but dang okay I guess that makes sense. It's funny I've been playing dishonored 2 recently and had to jack up the in game sensitivity as well as my mouse's (up to like 3600dpi) to get the camera movement anywhere close to acceptably speedy.
I do hope this weird mouse issue in days gone is an easy fix, although I'll probably play on a controller

Must say the performance is better than I thought, after viewing ACG's review and complaints about stuttering. 110~120fps on a 3700x / 3080 @ 3440x1440 (max settings, vSync via Nvidia control panel).

It's important to remember that it isn't as simple as looking at the DPI and saying "oh, that's low." If you want to accurately measure DPI you have to think of it from the perspective of what people call eDPI (effective DPI). It's basically taking the decimalized DPI setting from a game like CSGO or Valorant and multiplying it by your mouse's DPI. So someone might say "I use 400dpi," and you might think that they're using significantly lower sensitivity than someone with 1600dpi, but it all depends on the sensitivity setting in the game. So someone with a 1600dpi but 0.5 sensitivity setting would have the same 800 eDPI as someone with 400dpi and a sensitivity of 2. And depending on the game pros and high ranked competitive people get really low on the sensitivity scale.

I'm getting older now, so I've been trying to adapt to a more-normal 800 eDPI in CSGO, as opposed to the 400 I cut my teeth on back in the early 2000s :P

All of that said, it's disappointing that Days Gone has deadzone problems. I was going to fire up the game tonight, but I might wait a few days for a potential patch.

Does this have shader compilation on startup like other Sony titles on PC?
I'm a bit worried about shader stutter otherwise, because it was really bad in It Takes Two, and some people said it's a general issue with UE4 games on PC.

Also, native support for gyro aiming like on PS4?

Gears 4 and 5 don't have this stutter so it's not just an UE4 thing. All of DICEs games have massive amounts of shader compilation stutter with DX12 mode on PC so I think it's a combination of different issues with Direct X and various engines and the way they cache shaders. Not an issue at all in the console versions of these games, though.

Getting 120+ fps on 3080/3700x at 1440p everything maxed out. But the mouse smoothing /acceleration whatever feels really bad.

I recommend turning off the camera follow player setting.

Indeed, that's the first thing I noticed too. However, upping the mouse sensitivity (bor both axes) to 1.1 makes the game feel fine. It's not raw mouse input, but it's WAY BETTER than other console ports in which the camera behaves like a boat (when moving it).

Yeah now that I'm playing it I think the mouse feels decent enough. Not perfect like you said but there are much worse feeling games out there.

Game runs well on max settings with my 2070 Super and Ryzen 3700X at 3440x1440 res. It's been above 60 nearly the entire time I've been playing and I've only seen a handful of little stutters here and there.

Even my old potato PC, by today's standards (i7-4770k, GTX 980, 16 GB RAM), runs this game beautifully. 60 fps with no stuttering at 1080p with mostly high settings (very high lighting, very high texture filtering and medium clouds/fog).

Fantastic port! <3

This game runs beautifully on my rig. i7-8700km RTX 2080ti, 16GB RAM. And it is a looker. Didn't play it when it was released on the PS4 but glad I picked it up today. Having a lot of fun.

Game is pretty much locked to 144FPS@1080P on my 3070, R5 3600. Although I locked it to 72 FPS to maintain okay temps. Played for a few hours and no glitches. Impressed with the facial animations and the eyes.

I'm running it in 2560x1440, 90 FOV, everything maxed out, and I'm getting a solid 144 FPS with my 3080. I haven't noticed any stutters or other issues.

The game starts a little odd, but I'm 4 hours in and I'm really enjoying it. :)

How does one get this working properly with the Dual Shock 4? I can't steer the bike.

EDIT: apparently just disable Steam Input for the game

Mouse movement is so annoying. It gets stuck sometimes and I have to whip it access to get it moving. Sharp turns are a pain.

But other than that I have no issues. Runs great, no micro stuttering, no crashes, feels tight to play.

Pretty smooth at max settings with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 2060 Super at 1080p. Weird hitches now and again while riding around and sometimes bringing up the radial menu, but nothing game breaking. I played through it on a standard PS4 so it's a nice upgrade for me. I'm using a Xbox One wireless controller and zero issues with it.

Thanks for posting, I have a 2070 mobile which obviously isn't as powerful as a desktop card but this gives me a good indication that I should be able to run the game at 1080p max settings at around the same framerate.

The game runs great on a 1080ti @ 1440p targeting 144fps.

This was one of my favorite games on the PS4 so it only makes sense for me to play it on a Dualsense.

One problem I have is with the aim/camera deadzones and not on a mouse, like someone mentioned in the thread, but on the right stick. I usually use Linear Input method for aiming meaning no acceleration, but in this game it feels odd because of the deadzone, which is small but very noticeable. It throws off my aiming big time as I can't do tiny adjusments to line up the shots. Small Deadzone setting in the options menu helps a bit but it still suffers from the same deadzone issue.

So I guess the deadzone bug applies uniformly for both mouse and controller inputs. Hoping for a prompt fix from Bend Studio.
