Local villager started repairing in July of 2007, but with no government support, the result is not unexpected
The cave temple is located at Mount Wutai which has over 53 temple
Specific location is 中國甘肅隴南法鏡寺石窟
The temple was believed to have been created during the Northern and Southern Dynasty(Just after Three Kindgom era)
Du Fu (Considered one of the greatest poet of China along with Li Bai) had made a poem about the temple

It's in a remote area of China and very remote temple that most people wouldn't go to.
But ti's split into SOuthern and Northern temple with 31 cave( 15 South, 16 North)
And only 13 statue remaining
What it would look like is probabely not know, but you can compare the 13th cave statue with the 23rd "repaired" cave statue
